Thought of the Day: Dolph Ziggler
Yesterday I watched Edge vs. Ziggler from the 2011 Rumble. I just finished Punk vs. Ziggler from the 2012 Rumble. On Monday I saw Cena vs. Ziggler on Raw. My conclusion:
Ziggler is the exact same worker he was two years ago. He hasn’t gotten any better other than having a superkick instead of the sleeper now. His talking has gotten a bit better, but at the end of the day he’s about 95% the same guy that he was back in 2011. That’s not a good sign for a guy who is allegedly the future of the company.
I hope he loses his cash in. I really do. He has some great matches no doubt about it, but other than I just dont see it. He has the same problem a lot of the guys on the roster have; No development. Guys like him and Kofi are in the same spots they were years ago.
Don’t get the hype really. The new generation of the IWC seem to be picking some pretty awful talents to dick ride. I don’t see much in any of the other talents they love like Sandow, Rhodes and Cesaro. While they constantly whine and bitch about Ryback who has legit potential but is hated because he doesn’t do 55 moves in one match and have the promo skills of The Rock.
At least in the 00’s Smarks were right about the talents of people like Benoit, Eddie, Edge, Angle and others.
Pretty much Smarks have turned half retarded over the last 10 years. At least back then they were bitching about the right things like HHH reign of doom, HHH vs WCW, RAW 03 in general. Now they bitch about everything that isn’t a heel.
The IWC’s problem is they think you need to do flips and 100 moves to be a Wrestler. Plus its about workrate and having 5 Star Matches every night to them.
Dolph is probably still one of the best guys on the Roster but I would agree that he has the same character he had 2 years ago. Id just like to know when he will Cash in MITB.
I Think he’s great, He just needs a manager to do the talking. No Aj will not cut it.
I don’t see the hype around Ziggler nor Miz.
I was big on Miz when he was in the world title scene but this face run he’s on is horrible.
I never saw the hype about Miz. Never thought he was championship material despite how much people on the forums say he was built up to be. He has a stupid name, stupid catchphrase, nothing does it for me.
Eh. He’s good but not great. With Guys like Edge, Jericho, and Eddie who came up from the midcard they constantly got better week by week. Ziggler may be doomed to this spot on the card for a while until he just gets awesome which IDK if he can

He’s good for a solid match but if they think he’s going to carry one of the brands they’re crazy.
Do you think he’s world championship material?
Maybe as a short term one but for a long reign like Sheamus had last year? No.
