On reflection, although Cena v Rock and Cena v Taker are both exciting, I’ll choose Cena v Taker. Why? Because I find Rock v Brock more exciting than Taker v Brock. I’m sure HHH wants to involve himself in the action too, but he must accept that although he’s great, he’s a level below Rock and Taker in drawing terms, so sorry but you fight Punk. And tbh, HHH v Punk is exciting. Taker can only fight the most epic matches at Mania, and Punk and the most epic right now.

Plus, Brock v Taker you know who would win. Cena v Taker? Well……if it’s not Cena to end the streak it’s no one.

So it’s Cena v Taker, Rock v Brock and HHH v Punk. If you really think about it, it comes down to who is the bigger draw, Brock or Cena – if it’s Cena, he fights Taker as Taker is prob the weakest money draw of the 4. Then Brock, as the weaker draw out of him and Cena, fights the Rock (the strongest draw). It’s a 1st v 3rd and 2nd v 4th seeding system. Unless you go with a 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd seeding system, then it’s Rock v Taker and Cena v Brock. That sounds tasty too.

I thought this was a GREAT show! The RAW Roulette added a sense of unpredictability to the show.
Orton vs Cesaro was a classic. MOTY so far. I like that the Cesaro/Miz feud is still going. The money is in the chase baby!

I say have both Cena AND The Rock as the co-leaders of the Shield. At Mania they can just stop fighting eachother, shake hands, smile and laugh at the crowd and turn heel at the same time. See, I should be booking these shows.

I would be VERY surprised if Taker vs. Punk was that good.

  4. Jay H. says:

Not the Best RAW Match wise but all the Segments saved it. The closing was awesome with Vince/Heyman & Brock Lesnar. Heyman being worried for Vince was a nice touch as well.

Every week I tend to think the same thing around 10:30..this show is way too long.

  6. Evan says:

If the WWE goes with Rock/Cena II , Lesnar/HHH II and Punk/Taker ; it would have to be the biggest waste of a Wrestlemania card ever.

“But Rock-Cena would draw the most money!”

    Rock-Brock. I DARE somebody to tell me that Cena is a bigger draw than Brock currently. Tthere are ENDLESS AND FAR LESS PREDICTABLE MATCHES THAN THIS THAT SHOULD HAPPEN ;

    Rock-Cena-Punk, Rock-Cena-Lesnar, Rock-Brock, Rock-Taker, Brock-Taker, HHH-Punk, Brock-Punk, ETC ETC ETC.

I skipped 25 because they pulled this shit, and now I have to skip another Mania because WWE refuses to do what’s right.

    I pray I’m wrong.

    • Stormy says:

And congrats. You skipped WrestleMania 25, and because of “predictable” booking, you missed the greatest match in WrestleMania History, and arguably one of the greatest pro wrestling matches ever.

I’m sorry for you. That match alone was worth the price of Mania.

Rock/Cena II is what’s right. As is Lesnar/HHH 2. As is Punk/Taker (which will be a classic).

Rock/Cena II is about fixing the wrong of putting Rock over in the first place. I for one will be waiting for John Cena to hit the AA and pin The Rock, or better yet make him submit to the STF.

Taker/Punk is Punk going for the one thing arguably bigger then the Championship at WrestleMania. And yes, the way he’s been booked I would consider him a credible threat. I don’t expect Punk to win, but at the same time I know getting to the end of that match will be some of the most entertaining wrestling I can see.

Is it predictable? Yeah. Does that make it bad, wrong, or anything else? No. In fact, that makes it better as we get to pay better attention to how they get to the end result.

To further my point, I went to a basketball game today. Nets vs. Magic in Brooklyn. I knew the Nets would win, as they are a good team and the Magic suck. Does that mean I couldn’t enjoy myself because I knew what would happen before it happened? No, I loved it. I had a great time and the game was entertaining, even though the Nets won by 20 and led by as much as 30.

It’s a shame you’re too insane to realize that doing what you expect WWE to do, it all but guarantees itself 2 A+ matches (Rock/Cena and Taker/Punk) and an easy B+ or better (Lesnar/HHH) for it’s 3 top matches. Couple that with whatever they do with the undercard and you got yourself a classic Mania. Putting Punk in the championship match gives Taker or Triple H nothing. One gets Brock, the other gets Big Show. Big Show vs. either one is the opposite of a draw. And I like the Big Show.

      • chris says:

It’s lazy booking as they think it will be the highest drawing show again. It won’t it’s been done, stop being so creatively bankrupt and try something New.

  7. chris says:

Was the ending of raw the first step towards Triple H, Lesnar 2?

  8. Evan says:

    Taker-Brock.

No chance in hell they’d build HHH-Lesnar II NINE WEEKS IN ADVANCE. Plus, when the WWE Championship triple threat occurs, what the heck would Taker do then ?

  9. Kobiyashi says:

D+? You confuse me. This show was at least worth a B. You gave worst shows than this higher grades. Yeah this show had some horrible stuff but it also had a lot of good stuff. The good far outweighed the bad.

    • Thomas Hall says:

What good was on here? The predictable booking? The stupid comedy bits? The feuds just continuing because there’s no new idea in sight?

      • Kobiyashi says:

Too much good to explain. To each his own. I thought the show was awesome you thought it was below average.

      • Stormy says:

Tensai was entertaining for the first time since he became a Jobber. That comedy sketch was the most awesomely bad thing I’ve seen on RAW in a long time. And Awesomely bad is a good thing.

Oh, and what’s wrong with predictable booking? Wrestling has always had predictable booking. Attitude Era, Hogan Era, hell Bruno and Backlund were around for predictable booking.

Hell, Austin/McMahon was arguably the greatest feud in WWE History, and it was nothing but predictable. Austin will get the best of Vince McMahon time and time again.

        • Thomas Hall says:

When the stuff they’re booking is entertaining that’s fine. When it’s this stuff, not so much.

        • Stormy says:

What’s not entertaining about the 2 of the all time greatest superstars ever facing off? I mean really, Austin and The Rock did it 3 times.

And I don’t see the hate for HHH/Lesnar. They didn’t have bad matches before, and at Mania it will be even better.

And Punk/Taker should rival HBK/Taker 2 and HHH/Taker 3 in quality, and could easily reach HBK/Taker 1 quality.
