Thought of the Day: I Remember It Differently
I got to thinking about Roddy Piper today.I find it interesting that most fans of my age (26) remember Roddy Piper as the mother of all heels. The reason it’s interesting is Piper was barely a heel at any part of my life. He turned face in early 1987 and remained that way pretty much for the rest of his career, save for a quick run in WCW in 1999 when everything was nuts and a two month run in 2003. That speaks volumes about his heel run in the 80s as he went from that to a huge face for the next 25 years or so but is still remembered as a heel.
thats awesome. i love wrestling but after Guerrero & Benoit died i kinda lost interest for a while.

Interfered in Hogan vs. Vince at Mania XIX, mentored Sean O’Haire, wound up feuding with Rikishi.
i still remember wrestlemania 21 when he slapped stone cold in pipers pit.crazy stuff
He did it so well. It’s so fun to remember.
As far as I recall his biggest highlights as a face were his feuds with Adrian Adonis, Goldust, Hogan in WCW and the match with Bret for the IC title.
That’s pretty horrible in comparison to all the memorable things he did as a heel.
Most of his good stuff was on the mic anyway.

I appreciate that. I started watching as a baby and have watched ever since. I don’t remember not watching wrestling so that probably has a lot to do with it.
