It amazes me that TNA can put on good to decent PPVs but none of it translates to Impact. KB I hope your right about Dixie going through a Table in New York because it will make that story with Bully Ray a huge waste.

That’s why I feel TNA needs to stick with him for as long as possible. Or at least not have him fall to some evil stable like everyone else tends to do. Otherwise he’ll end up like Joe, AJ, Hardy, Anderson and many other faces not named Sting and fall irreparably to the background.

It’s TNA being stuck no matter what they do. On the one hand there’s what you said, and on the other hand there’s the idea of people not buying him as a top guy due to how long he wasn’t a top guy. At the end of the day, it’s really hard to make that big of a leap that fast and TNA can’t afford to have to spend months building up confidence in him. In other words: their short sighted booking is hurting them again.

      • Killjoy says:

I get that. And it’s reasonable. But TNA’s issue is that they give up on anyone after a short span. AJ, Joe, Anderson, Storm (boy did they REALLY mess up with him).

Eric Young and Aries seem to be the only 2 guys TNA has that can be seen as long standing figures. They need to commit to something. Even if Eric used to be a comedy guy up until a few months ago. Their lack of commitment has crapped on any good guy they’ve brought up and left their main event scene totally dry.

        • Thomas Hall says:

Well you almost have to have a heel champion in the long term, but you’re right about needing some top faces. Sting and Hogan white knighting everything for so long hurt things a lot.

I don’t see why you dislike EY as a champion right now. He’s been booked so solidly as a face which is a rarity in TNA for anyone not named Sting.

    • Thomas Hall says:

It’s much more the booking than Young. I still don’t buy him as the top guy but it’s more the booking being built around Dixie vs. Ray and Young as champion being wedged in as a side note.

      • Killjoy says:

True. But with performances like today’s, he really pushing it. Which is something you don’t get from face champions in TNA. They’ve had a very lousy record.

        • Thomas Hall says:

I certainly don’t hate him or really even dislike him. When he’s being a normal person, he’s MUCH easier to like. When he’s TNA’s Santino and doing the same jokes every single week for years, I can’t stand the guy. The underdog that comes from behind to win is a character that has staying power, though it usually makes him feel like a transitional champion when the reign ends.
