KB, since this was the introduction to action of The New Day, I wouldn’t be so fast to criticize that they beat jobbers the first time out. Like you said though, it looks like they’ll be going up against the Dust Brothers pretty soon. Wonder who teams up with them, though?

Wow that was awful. Considering most tv shows are on hiatus right now, shouldn’t this be the time that WWE puts on kickass shows to grab potential new viewers? I mean there is a reason why NWA and Crockett Promotions had their biggest show of the year during this time period.

Are you referring to Starrcade? The show that wasn’t available on PPV its first four years of it’s existence? The one that McMahon screwed over with his Survivor Series stipulation in 1987, and was run by Ted Turner by 1988? Not sure I get your point (not that you ever make sense…….)

And, man! How lazy is your comment? You claim it’s awful, but don’t really give a reason why. #jamesgracieisatroll #SaveUsJayH!

Well considering you admitted last week to KB that you weren’t even a wrestling fan 2 years ago, I’m not surprised you don’t get what I mean here. Starrcade was a big deal back then and I wasn’t talking about that show itself. The shows on TV leading up to it were big. When tv shows went on hiatus for the holidays, wrestling promoters took advantage of that break.(Unlike now where they basically take it off too with Tribute to the Troop shows and RAWs with not much storyline advancement) They knew many casual viewers would probably tune in cause there was nothing else on TV. Boom, new viewers to try to win over. But since you weren’t even watching when the Anonymous RAW GM was first used(not even 3 years ago), I don’t expect you to know much. Well, you did know about the original Survivor Series and it’s reason for existing to counter Starrcade…..Wikipedia is great isn’t it?

And do I need to give a reason why this show was awful? You did watch right?

        • Hubcap Dave says:

I didn’t start watching wrestling full time again until this year……but back in the 80s, I watched World Championship Wrestling every weekend on TBS. So I do know what I’m talking about. For 2 hours, you got a bunch of 3 minute old school promos, squash matches of about the same length, and, if you were lucky, highlights from a house show. I liked them well enough when I was a young lad, but they were hardly compelling TV. Build-ups to whatever they had going on at the house shows didn’t mean much to me either, because they weren’t running house shows on the West Coast until the end of 1986 (which I went to).

You ALWAYS give some small, tiny smidgen of criticism to some part of every show. Which leads me to think you just said “screw it” this week.
