    I’ve always had the theory that the Rumble was meant to be the #1 contenders spot ever since ’90. Think about it, since Hogan won 1990 as champ they turned to the IC champ, the logical #1 contender (kayfabe) in Ultimate Warrior. 91′ saw Hogan win the Rumble then go on to challenge and defeat the champion at WrestleMania and 92′ the title was on the line so there was no need for an official mention of a #1 contender for the WWF title until 93′ of course.

    I like how, when Tugboat enters, they realize Savage was the missing guy, Piper wondering why and Monsoon immediately suggests the Warrior chased Savage out of the building. Great bit there to sell the story, wish we had more of that today.

      Indeed. It shows someone thinking on their feet as opposed to the current announcers who probably have to add and subtract on them.
