At XX, both guys were leaving though. If Lesnar is up against, say, Bryan and unmotivated, Bryan’s great enough to have Lesnar be the only one that looks like a chump.
… yeah, Reigns would be screwed most probably.

For a match where the champ is leaving and a talented guy with a ton of charisma is winning the title, check out the main event of SuperBrawl II with Luger dropping the title to Sting. It was really, really ugly.

        Thanks, I’ll check it out.

In this case, would you job Lesnar out decisively on the last three occasions? It’s hard to find more than a handful of people that got pushed as hard. In return we got almost nothing last year, looks like payoff time.

        • Thomas Hall says:

Nah. You don’t hvae to job him more than once. Cena pins Rollins at the Rumble, no Lesnar at Fast Lane, Reigns pins him at Wrestlemania.

I understand Lesnar not caring and the match being a disaster especially in the main event of Wrestlemania. I just thought you were talking about the buyrates and people not watching more than anything else.

Great read. I HEAVILY disagree on taking the title off Lesnar sunday though. Yes its been a disaster but there is only a couple months left until Mania and there needs to be a payoff to this. Lesnar losing the title with or without getting pinned will hurt him and make whoever beats him at Mania not mean nearly as much. Unless they go a big match route like against Orton where niether guy has anything to lose or gain, Lesnar needs to put over the Rumble winner and drop the title in the process of doing so. Yes the last few months have been a disaster but we got this far whats another 2 months or whatever? All that would happen is Cena or Rollins defends the title at fast lane. Hardly anything groundbreaking.

Here’s the problem: if you put Lesnar in as champion at Wrestlemania and word gets out that he’s going (which he very well may), the buyrate plummets and people don’t buy the Network. WWE can’t afford that right now.

      • Aeon Mathix says:

So the predictability that Lesnar would drop the title is what would make the buyrates plummet? Everyone on earth knew Cena would beat Rock at Mania 29 yet that drew a fortune. Everyone knew Shawn would retire against Undertaker at 26. Plus even if word did break out Lesnar was leaving the casual fans don’t spend enough time on wrestling news websites to know and it’s been pretty established everyone is preparing for Lesnar leaving anyway. Wrestlemania is going to sell regardless on its name alone. Have someone take Lesnar’s title and send him packing. Makes that winner look even stronger down the road when people realize wow we havent seen Lesnar since Mania, that guy really did destroy him.

        • Thomas Hall says:

Rock draws no matter what and 26 had Cena vs. Batista, which is a huge match no matter what. The other thing I’d point you do is Wrestlemania XX. Do you want to risk that happening again?
