  1. anyone else concerned over what happens to the loser of Reigns and Bryan in terms of WM build up? I think this ends as a double count out with another triple threat announced for Mania.

Given the most likely winner in that bout is Reigns, and if there were not to be a triple threat match, then what does Bryan do?

I’d imagine an Orton-Rollins, Cena-Rusev, Bray-Taker, Ambrose-Barrett, Lesnar-Reigns, means all the top stars are booked away.

Of course there is the imminent heelish corporate Sheamus which has been touted, but that just sounds so underwhelming given the alternatives on offer

I’m not glad Bryan is in the match cause there is no chance he’s beating Reigns. He’s in there to put Reigns over and it’s gonna make everything worse for him. Not only that, it cheapens the actual Rumble match. And my point is to call out WWE’s booking. Kayfabe wise, what is the controversy? As I said, Rock never touched Rusev, the only other legal man in the match. He came in and attacked Show and Kane cause they were attacking Reigns after being eliminated. I’m happy Bryan is at least getting a shot, but we all know he’s not winning.

  3. Derek Hamel says:

I totally disagree with everyone saying Reigns’ loss to Show was bad booking. On the contrary, I think it was the smartest move WWE could have made. The backlash against Reigns isn’t so much because he’s green, or he can’t talk. It’s because all most WWE fans know is that WWE management is evil, and they clearly want Roman to be the top guy. How else are they supposed to react?
Having Reigns lose is a way to placate the fans who feel that he’s being booked as the next Cena, the superman who never, ever loses. Roman beating, or destroying Big Show won’t get fans on his side. They’re trying to give him a little humanity by showing some vulnerability. It’s smart.

    • james gracie says:

I agree with this except for the fact they are trying to get him over as a Main Eventer. He should destroy Show cause his opponent at Mania destroyed Show too.

With that said, he shouldn’t be a main eventer right now. Giving Reigns humanity and vulnerability is how they should book him in the midcard right now. Let him work on his craft for a year as a singles guy first. Have him feud with Rusev for the US title and hold the US title for a long time. The US and IC title used to be great ways for mid carders to get over and use as a stepping stone to the World Title. Look at guys like Randy Savage, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, The Rock, even John Cena. They all were in the mid card for many years before they got the world title and used their US or IC title reigns as a way to get over and move up into the main event scene.

On the contrary, look at guys like Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Miz who were given the world title way too soon. That’s the path Reigns will be headed on

      • Eric says:

Just to play devil’s advocate, Miz went from stupid character, to tag specialist (in the best tag team of the last decade arguably), to midcard champion, to MITB, to Champ. He did it exactly the way you were describing for those other guys and it worked like a charm at the time. Just because it’s been a mixed bag since doesn’t mean he was “thrust into the main event too quickly”. The dude was on the main roster for almost 7 years before he touched a World Title.

        • james gracie says:

I never mentioned MITB, I think that concept is stupid cause when you win the title, it’s by a fluke. Edge is the only guy that really benefited from being MITB winner mainly cause it was a new idea and he was the first to do it.

Look at guys like Del Rio, Swagger, Ziggler, Sandow who cashed in and won the title on a fluke. It didn’t do jack shit for any of them.

Even Punk and Bryan’s first reigns weren’t meaningful cause of MITB. Their title wins later in their careers were much better star making moments than the stupid MITB cash in(Punk vs Cena at the MITB PPV. and Bryan at Summerslam and Mania.) All cause they built up to their matches.

RVD is the only one who announced ahead of time when he was cashing in(I think Cena did too) and look what happened? It was a memorable match and a big moment. It wasn’t a fluke win by beating a guy who’s unconscious in the ring. RVD messed that up by having drugs in his car.

Building up title matches is much better than having a guy win the title on a fluke after a guy’s been knocked out.

        • Eric says:

Wasn’t the point. Point is that Miz wasn’t rushed to the main event. It took him years to get there and he didn’t skip the midcard, he was a multi-time US champion before moving to the main event. Point being you using him as an example of rushed guys is flat wrong.

  4. Jay H (the real one) says:

Dude don’t even bother trying to explain things to him. He’s the same guy who a month ago (January 5th if I remember right) said he wouldn’t be watching anymore. Yet here we are in February and he’s still here bitching. #JamesGracieisahyporcrite.

As for the Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns Match at Fast Lane I can see this going two ways.

1.Daniel Bryan wins and faces Brock at WM 31. Reigns turns Heel by griping he won the Royal Rumble but got screwed out of his Title shot.

2.The Match ends in a draw and HHH makes it a Triple Threat vs Brock Lesnar.

By the way for the people whining about JBL’s comment. Do me a favor and grow a pair. This is why the Attitude Era isn’t coming back because WWE couldn’t get away with half the stuff they did then today.

  5. Keith says:

Raw was a real hard watch tonight. I didn’t really care about nearly anything. The only decent thing was Rollins and Bryan. Again, Reigns losing against the Big Show is bad booking. He should be destroying him.

  6. Derek Hamel says:

Another great example of how much a great audience helps a show, and vice versa. A rabid crowd would have boosted the main event a couple of notches. The largest crowd response was for the brief mention of Brock Lesnar during the opening promo, which shows that Lesnar’s a babyface now whether it’s planned or not. They should do an official double flip on Raw, have Heyman manage Reigns (who needs a mouthpiece even more than Lesnar), and have Roman and Paul vs Bryan at Fastlane.
Of course, the problem with that is they’d be setting up a heel to win the main event at Mania, but I still like the idea.

  7. Gunther_224 says:

I really think they’re planting the seeds for Reigns to take Rollins spot in the authority though after that “I’m not Randy Orton” segment. If so this may actually be pretty good.

  8. Gunther_224 says:

“I’d give him (Bryan) about as much of a chance at main eventing Wrestlemania as I have” I don’t know, not only would it be pointless if it didn’t get Bryan in the main event somehow but the fan reaction would be just as bad as the Rumble if not worse.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I still think it’s a way to get Reigns more over than a chance for Bryan.

      • Gunther_224 says:

        Getting him
More over by going up against not only a hugely popular superstar but one of the best workers they have? If that is what they’re going for then it’s 100% doomed to backfire. If it ends with a Reigns joining the authority though that just might work.

  9. F5 says:

    3 thoughts:

    1) People keep pretending that Bryan’s movement is only “smarks” and certain crowds based on geography, these people are in far more denial than the Bryan supporters they seek to make themselves seem better than.

    2) JBL made an extremely tasteless joke about Eddie Guererro tonight that I was shocked and appalled by, and nobody seemed to notice it. He should be made to apologize or be reprimanded immediately. I had thought the 2 were friends.

    3) While we’re on the subject of reprimands, you should either do so with a poster on your forum named “BaconBits” or ban him, because he’s being very blatant about attacking other posters in ways which violate your rules and in general seems like a total prick, whom obviously shouldn’t be namecalling when he’s a 37 year old man watching a kid’s show and calling people names on an internet forum which is the joke of many in the actual business.

    That’s it.

    • MoralOral says:

      I actually didn’t catch the comment what.was it ?

      • F5 says:

During the match with Ryback and Harper he made a comment that Harper looked like a “Zombified Eddie Guererro jumping into the ring” or something along those lines, which obviously only makes sense if he’s saying that Eddie would come back from the dead as a zombie.

He’s been taking shots at JR for a while, which no doubt are from Dunn, Vince, and HHH, but I doubt even they would try to invoke the image of a beloved deceased star rising from the grave as a rotting corpse to attack another wrestler.

  10. Eric says:

Bryan has more of a chance than you think. I’m thinking that if Reigns doesn’t repair himself the way they’re hoping, this is their way out to swap for Bryan. If Reigns shows something in 3 weeks, they go with him. There is a chance Bryan wins though for sure.

  11. Killjoy says:

A fan took a picture of a guy sitting in the front row covered from top to bottom. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was actually Orton and they held off on his return yet again.

  12. Bossman says:

So they’re getting rid of Miz & Mizdow and Stardust & Goldust and will most likely split up Cesaro & Kidd for the hell of it which only means one thing…

The Usos vs Ascension matches galore!

  13. Steve says:

I’m neutral on Reigns, but that spear on the Big Show looked awesome. Not sure if it was the camera angle or what but it was one of the best I’ve seen.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Indeed. There are so many ways of doing them and REigns goes with the HIT THE GUY REALLY FREAKING HARD version.

      • Steve says:

How did you feel about Reigns reception tonight by the crowd?

        Also what about Bryan’s?

I’m not sure what the interview after his match was for but It seemed like the crowd was only half into it

        • Thomas Hall says:

Encouraging. The Philadelphia crowd was far too extreme to be a good basis for judgment. Reigns is nowhere near as hated as people think he is.

As for Bryan’s promo, I think the fans were just done by that point and didn’t have a big reaction in them.

  14. Larry says:

Still think there’s no chance of them Bo Dallas-ing Reigns?

  15. Aeon Mathix says:

They are killing me with the lack of Orton

  16. Kaips says:

Where is Orton? Starting to think he aint comin back anytime soon.

  17. Killjoy says:

Booker T, dude. Not Byron Saxton.
