With Survivor Series being Taker’s 25th anniversary I’m really hoping they do the third match there and come up with something fresh for Mania.

  2. M.R. says:

I disapprove of Taker coming back to beat Wyatt and Lesnar, what are we still building this guy up for?

    • Thomas Hall says:

His retirement. WWE doesn’t understand that at this point, Taker has lost most of his value as the Streak meant way more than anything else. I don’t get it either.

  3. Things Promoters Never Say says:

“Wow, those fan chants are credible! I’d better adjust my booking accordingly!”

  4. Vintage Nick says:

Apparently Undertaker collapsed after his match with Lesnar.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I saw that and I’m of two mindsets about it.

      1. It’s a reference to him collapsing after the first match.

      2. He should never be allowed in the ring with Brock again.

  5. Jerichoholic94 says:

Jon Stewart basically shit on Brock Lesnar for ending the streak and Heyman bragging because of the “wrestling purist” in him. The purist in him might not want to see Cena tie the record of Flair. Makes sense to me.

  6. Arindam says:

If the show were to be 3 hours long, which two matches would you leave out? I just feel like they were all important and will help lead to new stories in the months to come.

  7. Jordan says:

Cena rarely loses clean so it really doesn’t surprise me that they did some wonky finish with him and Rollins tonight. Stewart helping Rollins makes absolutely no sense and the explanation (if we even get one) should make for some bad TV. Everything that needs to be said about the Taker/Lesnar ending was nailed by KB in the review. Good action, poor booking. NXT wins again.

    • Gunther_224 says:

I agree 100%. I was hoping (rather naively) that the shield (or at least Ambrose) would reunite with Rollins and cost Cena the match. To say this was a bit disappointing is like saying the Pacific Ocean is a little damp.

  8. Hubcap Dave says:

Graded on a curve, you’re pretty spot on about Amell. Everythig he did was pretty basic, until he hit that Enziguri!

  9. I Am Phenom says:

They probably were. It was hard to see ‘Taker tap.

  10. Dmxfury says:

Can’t believe he still hooks people, two more on the line. As far as the show, good potential with some solid matches going on but horrific overbooking doomed it. Embarrassing ending which killed the crowd and they simply stopped caring. Bad move

  11. El Killjoy says:

Great wrestling. Shitty booking. This weekend was NXTs to own.

  12. Stoner Cold says:

Dude. At no stage during tonight’s PPV did anyone hold a gun to your head and force you to keep watching. Get a new hobby if wrestling isn’t doing it for you anymore, just stop shitting on everyone else’s enjoyment.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Save your time. He doesn’t want to like it.

      • L@RISANO says:

Is it me, or did the crowd go mild at the ending? It seemed almost like they either hated it or were confused.

    • Hubcap Dave says:

Besides, the clown most likely didn’t watch it, as he doesn’t subscribe to the network, and has no compunction commenting on shows he never watches.

      • Jay H (the real one) says:

Im surprised he didn’t call us all idiots for having watched it tonight like he said he would. You know what im not going to comment any further on him because he’s a hypocrite,a liar, and a miserable piece of shit.

Overall I thought Summerslam was a solid outing with some good Matches but the Jon Stewart thing still has me scratching my head.

  13. I Am Phenom says:

Omg, how f’n stupid is this idiot James Gracie? You’re one of them can never be satisfied, lives at home with his parents, knows everything about wrestling types aren’t you? I get tired of saying this, especially to the IWC, but if it’s that bad then stop freaking watching. Why would you watch something that you clearly hate? Definition of insane right there. Then, to top it off, you go online to bitch about it and say the literally the same shit evrytime. Just stop watching and leave the rest of us in peace.

    • Gunther_224 says:

He’s actually right this time. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

    • Stoner Cold says:

Yep. Literally just replied to his post about this sorta stuff. I don’t get it at all, myself! I’m not a fan of Star Trek. I learnt that after watching the first episode. Instead of continuing to watch it and complain about it on an online forum, I switched it off and watched something else. If you hate WWE’s product at the moment, change the channel, watch a different company or get a new hobby!

    • Hubcap Dave says:

Look up “troll” in the dictionary, and you’ll see James Gracie’s picture

    • Jacob Jones says:

Don’t bother, I’ve been trying to tell him that there are other promotions out there besides WWE and TNA, but it just falls on deaf ears. He’s never going to listen, at the point: It’s like talking to a zombie.

As I said on the forums. This SummerSlam seemed like Mania 31 lite more than anything. Generally poor storyline build-up and quite good matches(not as good as Mania, however).

That said, one thing that encouraged me after reading your review is the part you mentioned about new stories being done hopefully starting tomorrow night itself, at least that gives me something to look forward to. WWE has a quality roster, and it is time they phase certain guys who need to be out of the spotlight for freshening up.

The prospect of a 3rd Lesnar vs Taker match is just… …… hopefully it is ended at Survivor Series and not kept for Mania 32 in Dallas. My fingers are still crossed for Taker vs Sting(which I know you’re not a fan of, KB. 😉 )

  15. M.R. says:

    Yikes. What a cluster.

  16. Ted says:

Good grief the Bella’s are terrible. Having said that Owens and cesaro was good. Vena and rollins was great. I’m not even going to get into that piss poor ending to taker lesnsr. The best team in the wwe have their tag belts back. It was a good show:)

As an aside. A countout at summerslam that was just plain bad.

  17. deanerandterry says:

A little surprised with B+ for the title match. Maybe it’s me but I can’t pass any match where half the moves barely connect. It’s just really hard to get into matches when they look so an phony.

    • L@RISANO says:

      Agreed.
Both guys seemed tentative at times and it hurt the match in the process. Rollins did well, and I am sure he’ll be brilliant whenever he turns Babyface. Puzzling ending also with Jon Stewart involved. I’d have given the Title v Title match a B.
