This was still a good Show especially that 3 Way Tag Match though I agree it was pretty deflating when DIY went out first. I thought they’d be walking out with the Belts and the same with Ember Moon. With Asuka/Ember though since Moon couldn’t hit her move it does help setup a rematch. Good to see Drew Mcintyre back in WWE and i hope they have him use Broken Dreams again as his Theme.

When DIY and Revival switched up their finishing maneuvers, that may have been one of the loudest reactions I’ve seen on a wrestling program in years. Phenomenal match. Even if these two teams get called up and have another couple of matches, the atmosphere is too vastly different compared to NXT it won’t be the same. NXT audience can be awful but their reactions help the matches so much at times.

I agree that Tye needs to win something like… right now, but I also think it was the right call for an actual stable to beat a team of four people thrown together for the sake of a tag match. I should also note that it drives me nuts when two thrown-together guys beat ACTUAL tag teams in tag matches. (Don’t get me started when this happens to tag champions.)

I should know better than to doubt NXT, but if both The Revival and DIY get called up, what does that leave for the tag division? Heavy Machinery (who is far from proven) and who else?

      Sabbatelli/Moss, TM61, Ealy Brothers, Dawkins/Montez, Bollywood Boyz

I’m sure there’s more, but that’s at least the same as Smackdown’s tag division.

NXT is never going to be a fully stocked pond. The way WWE does massive call ups means that NXT will have to gut a division and rebuild. This happened last year with the women and now the women are beginning to feel robust again. The tag division will grow again around the Authors of Pain much as the women’s division grew around Asuka.

You’re probably right, but it just feels like it will never be the same. I get the feeling this was the “Golden Age” of tag team wrestling NXT. I know it had to end at some point, and I hope they’re able to recreate some of the magic on the main roster but it never seems to last long there, either. I hope I’m wrong.

I think the bar is simply too high for Takeovers now. Nothing was bad on this show… I’d argue most of it was damn good. Yet when it was done, my prevailing thought was “that was the worst Takeover yet”.
