I loved Roman Reigns opening segment and him just soaking up all the hatred. He didn’t have to say much and it worked. Kurt Angle being the GM is nothing but good and i loved his interaction with Enzo/Cass, he fit right back in to the fold.

The only thing that did annoy me and i agree is the stupid beach balls. You have Neville & Mustfa Ali busting their ass but that nonsense going on. That needs to die and in a hurry.

I don’t know why you’re so ambivalent about Reigns vs Lesnar next year when their previous match was one of the best Wrestlemania matches ever

    • Thomas Hall says:

It’s not that. It’s wondering why Vince thinks this is going to work.

XXXI: Reigns vs. Lesnar, Reigns gets booed out of the stadium.

XXXII: Reigns vs. HHH, Reigns gets booed out of the stadium.

XXXIIII: Reigns vs. Undertaker, Reigns gets booed out of the stadium.

XXXIV: Reigns vs. Lesnar, Vince: “THIS TIME IT’S GOING TO WORK!”

      • Conor says:

If you still think that Vince is expecting and booking him to be cheered by that audience then I have a bridge to sell you

  3. M.R. says:

Taker had nearly a four decade WWE career…? Am I missing something?

    • Thomas Hall says:

      1990s
      2000s
      2010s

If he made it to 2021, it would have been four decades. That probably should have said wrestled in four decades.

      • broken james gracie says:

M.R is not the sharpest tool in the box. He’s just a tool. I mean he is a wrestling fan after all so math is not his strong point.

  4. NightShiftLoser says:

Strowman has now avoided conflict with Taker AND Lesnar. That is not how you book a monster. I say they throw him back with Wyatt, and let him recharge for a bit.

  5. Ted says:

So does Finn get a rematch for the belt he never lost? Also isn’t Kevin Owens owed a rematch as well? Or do we have to wait until august to see the belt defended again?

    • Thomas Hall says:

      I wouldn’t go that far.

June maybe, and odds are that’s going to be Strowman for reasons I don’t even want to try to figure out.

Bryan vs. Sheamus being part of the WM 30 plan comes from anybody NOT directly involved in the WWE (except for maybe Bryan himself). From what I’ve read/heard/seen, the company’s line was basically “See what happens when you give a storyline some patience? We know what we’re doing.” Anybody with a brain knows that this is laughable. This is the same company that tried to prove that the “Yes!” chant was over and not Bryan out of spite.

What Roman did was make the best of a bad situation. That is different from having them in the palm of his hand. Again, if Roman had the crowd in the palm of his hand, they would be cheering him or at least letting him speak. That is literally what the expression “having someone in the palm of your hand” is meant to convey: having them react or do exactly what you want them to. Him wanting them to boo him is him being a heel… which again, he is not. So he (see: his character) is either a jerk, or he’s bad at his job. That’s him being in the palm of the hand of his audience, not the other way around. He handled the cards he was dealt perfectly, but it’s laughable/hubris/total WWE hivemind attitude to think he’s in control of anything.

    • Tim says:

I’ve actually never seen anyone from WWE state that the Mania 30 plan for Bryan was planned all along. Batista said it wasn’t. Bryan said it wasn’t. Punk leaving caused HHH’s plan to go out the window. Bryan was inserted into Punk’s spot (HHH) and due to being so popular, got put into the main event spot.

Agree to disagree on Roman. You are taking it very literally while I’m not. Again, it has nothing to do with the type of reaction (and I’m not saying any reaction is a good one).

  7. BestSportsEntertainer says:

If any reaction is a good reaction, then why does WWE edit fan reactions to Reigns in videos?

Why do they edit out “Roman sucks” chants?

Don’t kid yourself – the Reigns experiment has failed and will continue to fail unless he turns heel.

    • Tim says:

Are you talking to me? If so, I have clearly stated the type of crowd reaction has NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT REIGNS MEANT.

  8. Harry says:

That fan would be me mate, glad to have been of service! Keep doing what you’re doing, best reviewer out there.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Much appreciated. I mentioned you doing that to my dad, who doesn’t seem to think much of what I do. For the first time in a long time, he seemed impressed. Moreso than when I handed him a book I wrote. Thank you very much again.

  9. Anon de Ymous says:

Amazing what 24 hours can do for a knee that was all but killed dead by Triple H, isn’t it? Also, why is Finn teaming with Seth? Did Seth apologize for mocking the DEMON KING(!!) or what?

The Revival knocking over the ice cream cart was amazing. Hopefully this gives New Day something to do other than recycling dick jokes week after week.

I feel differently about the Reigns promo. I know I’m getting worked, but if he really was capable of “having them in the palm of his hand” (as he claimed), then I wonder why he didn’t use those talents to make those people cheer for him (not just on Raw, but at any point in the last two years).

Angle is a breath of fresh air, and it’s awesome to see he still has great comedic timing (which Raw could definitely use). Hopefully they don’t try to have Stephanie emasculate him every week like they did with Foley. Neville is one of the best things WWE has going on. I’m not the biggest Goldberg fan, but I really also enjoyed his post-show promo. It was neat to see him turn a hostile crowd in his favor.

    • Tim says:

Reigns had them during Raw. He didn’t mean he has had them forever. You read way too much into that.

      • Anon de Ymous says:

You’re telling me he wants to get booed, then? If so, is he admitting that he’s failed at what he’s been meant to do this entire time or is he living in that garbage WWE bubble mentality of “any reaction is a good reaction” we get spoon-fed every week by commentators begging us to like him? If it’s the latter, then it’s a case of a talent getting worked more than the audience because this guy isn’t meant to be a heel. As it is, “any reaction is a good reaction” is flawed logic because if people didn’t boo this guy, then all you would hear is the cheering by people who buy into every WWE booking decision, good or bad, which is convenient for WWE because now the Reigns experiment is a rousing success either way. It’s the same as them taking credit for Daniel Bryan’s success, saying they’d planned his Wrestlemania 30 story line all along after multiple attempts at burying him. That being said, if Reigns actually has turned heel, then all of this is moot. But he hasn’t, so it’s not.

        • Tim says:

Again, reading way too much into this. They never said they planned Bryan’s WM 30 thing all along. Bryan vs Sheamus was their plan.

Booing/cheering is not part of having them in the palm of his hand. Reigns had them where anything he did would get a giant reaction. He could smile and they would react. He could start dusting the turnbuckles and they would react. He could cure cancer and they would react.

I know you are going to take this as me saying any reaction is good. I’m not. That is not what Reigns meant. It was more every person in that crowd was invested in booing Reigns whenever he did something.
