Well we’ll see about that. The story to the turn worked though.

Wrestling companies always lie. If you’re going to take issue with that, there’s no way to ever be happy.

Becky turning makes sense with the story they’ve been telling. What reason would Charlotte have to turn on her?

    • EC3 says:

Becky wins title, Charlotte gets jealous. Why? Because her friends are not as good as her because she’s a freakin Flair.

      • Thomas Hall says:

Or they could go with the story they’ve been telling: Becky hasn’t gotten a title shot in a long time and Charlotte stole her chance. Charlotte was playing with the house’s money and it wouldn’t have made sense for her to be that mad.

        • Prophet says:

Whining about wrestling companies telling lies is like complaining that ice cream is cold.

        • EC3 says:

          I got brainfreeze!

Sorry, had to play to that comment!

And I think you missed my entire point, which is that, much like Jeff Hardy turning in 2010 and the failed Bayley turn attempt, this probably won’t work, because Becky is about as natural a face as you can find. Also, you turned her on the most natural heel on the women’s roster that is playing a babyface for reasons I cannot explain.

it’s a longshot (maybe) but having Drew beat Roman at Mania for the title in front of that Jersey/New York crowd would be too perfect.

In fact, throw anyone you want in that spot against Roman and it would be quite a moment regardless.

  4. Undying says:

It’s obvious the plan for about a year now has been annoy the fans with Brock’s infrequent appearances and title defenses which to fair worked a good majority of fans especially online with people begging for him to lose it. However when you have Roman as the destined conqueror, it’s a double edged sword. Do we want the guy who never shows up or the guy who nobody wants to show up?

  5. IC says:

Cole gets his Demon history wrong, saying it last appeared two years ago.
He actually awkwardly corrected himself mid-match.

For the SD Women’s title change, I get the Becky heel turn but I hate the fact that Carmella lost her title without getting pinned or even getting the shit beat out of her.
The fact that she barely sells and is a horrible wrestler don’t help either.

  6. Isaiah says:

Damn KB, you’re the only reviewer I’ve read thus far saying that the
Planning, layout and delivery of the show was great.

  7. Liam Fenech says:

Finally Finally Brock Lesners title reign is over and I can watch the Network again. Now I’m porbably the only person on this site to say this but Thank you so much Roman Reigns for beating Lesner and putting the universal title back in play!

  8. Prophet says:

    THE BIG DAAAAAWG!

  9. Jay H (the real one) says:

Really good Summerslam and im really glad Brock Lesnar’s Title reign is over. Best Matches were Miz/DB, New Day/Bludgeons, AJ/Joe, Seth/Ziggler, and the Smackdown Womens Title. A couple of nice surprises like Demon Finn Balor & Becky Lynch going Heel it seems. I also like how and what it should have been with Ronda Rousey steamrolling Alexa Bliss.

  10. EC3 says:

Woah, what? Usually we agree on a lot, but not here. Logical booking decisions? The show was basically a giant F U to the fans. Outside of the Demon, it was Vinces choices winning whether you like it or not.

And flat out telling thr fans there WILL be a cash in and then just going off the air KNOWING there’s supposed to be one was one of the most ridiculous things ever.

Wrestling was fine and good. Booking was atrocious as either WWE doesn’t understand its fans or simply doesn’t care.

    • Thomas Hall says:

      Which decision wasn’t logical?

And the cash-in was to keep the fans calm during the match and get out of there ASAP.

      • EC3 says:

Turning Becky heel isn’t logical. First, it’s completely ignoring what the fans want because HAHA FAIR WINS! and second, did they really think that telegraphic the ending for weeks and having Becky beat up a superstar they don’t like would turn her heel? Same with Bayley, it’s not what the fans want to see and they aren’t going to accept It.

Second illogical booking: Cedric retains for no reason. We seem to agree on this.

Third, bringing Braun out only to not cash in because HAHA OUT OF TIME SO ROMAN WINS is insanely silly. It’s a flat out lie to fans. I have a whole rant about Braun as MITB guy but for another time. This also leads to….

Roman is still “babyface”. There are legit zero main event heels with credibility on Raw. Zero. Owens is destroyed, Corbin destroyed, nothing. It’s gonna be Strowman as #1 contender because the guy with the briefcase needs a feud for the title where he doesn’t use the thing. I’m not sure anyone considered how little Reigns has to work with as champ. Either he needed to be bad, or others need to be like Lashley, Drew rises up, Dean, etc. As of now, prospects aren’t good.

        • Thomas Hall says:

Turning Becky heel is very logical. Last night’s crowd wasn’t going to boo Becky no matter what she did. I really wouldn’t use New York as a litmus test. Becky has a valid reason for what she did, but she lost in fair competition. That’s a heel turn and it makes sense.

It wasn’t that it was out of time. Brock beat him down and Strowman wasn’t ready to cash in because of it. Also, the briefcase was up at the top of the ramp and you have to have it to cash in. It’s annoying, but it makes sense. Also, that was done to get in and out as fast as possible.

Now it’s hardly fair to blame Reigns winning on Summerslam. His push hasn’t made sense for years.

        • EC3 says:

Nah, Reigns winning is not an issue to me. The issues are the Braun thing (lying to keep people watching), and Roman’s lack of opponents moving forward.

As for Becky, it’s more that it’s not logical from a company perspective. You have Charlotte, a natural heel who sucks as a babyface. You have Becky, the most naturally charismatic woman I’ve maybe ever seen, and in a 2 week build, you “give reason” for turning the wrong person. That’s the lack of logic. It was the same with Bayley/Sasha and thankfully, they realized how stupid that was when the crowd popped like a cherry for Bayley beating up Sasha.
