First off KB my dad is going to be ok. He does need hospice services but just medical equipment and more nursing for bathing.

With that being said the prestige of a championship does not mean much anymore.

I can remember growing up hearing about the great Harley race and how many championships he held. I also remember a young up and coming wrestler named Ric flair and how he said he wanted to be the best. Because Flair was younger and Race was nearing the end of the race your kinda knew that Flair would break his championship record Still as a fan every championship he won for his first 8 reigns (7 NWA/WCW 1 wwe).every time he won he was in an important match. He was in with Rhodes or steamboat or someone that elevated the ship and made the match feel important

Just as much as you win the title there is also merit in losing the title if your match is going to push someone and make them into a big star. There was this 29 year old surfer character named Sting that Flair went into a Time limit draw that wowed the audience. Even Flair said this kid has it. He’s got to win the title off of me at some point. He is going to be a star

Around the same point the Federation had their own sting character in the ultimate warrior. At Wrestlemania 6 he had his Wrestlemania moment as Hogan allowed warrior to pin him when at the time Hogan did not really do clean pin finishes. At the time it was huge for Warrior and as a young wrestling fan at the time warriors moment and stings moment are two of my cherished memories

Warrior would go to feud with Rude in a steel cage at summerslam but still his reign as champion was not very memorable I will spare you the history lesson but he dropped the title to someone so that person could be in a storyline with Hogan at WM 7.

Sting on the other hand had challengers in Luger and some talented big man named Vader. Every time he wrestled in his early reigns the title meant something. Every early world title he won you were excited and every world title he lost you felt for him.

I can remember at 12 years old in July of 92 when Vader beat sting for the title. I was a Stinger so I was crushed BUT WCW created the original Kofi moment when Ron Simmons beat Vader in Baltimore in August of 92.

I’m happy for Kofi I’m happy that Ron Simmons the Rock Booker T all paved the way for his moment. BUT if you really think about it the moment of him winning exceeded his reign. Kofi was never really allowed to really shine on his own. He had the New Day in tow with him and right after he won. Woods was screaming this is our moment. No Woods you did not win the title nor did you defend it. I. There is no 3 person world title nor is the belt defended by more than one person in a persons reign. The world title is not the tag championship

Wrestling no matter what company still creates seminal moments in time that as a fan we remember cherish and hold on to. But we can’t get upset or bent out of shape in the modern era of wrestling competition that the moment still do.matter they always have but we are now being told that we can’t care about the characters too much. Word to all wrestling companies. I know it’s a work But let me as a consumer and a fan care about what I want to care about.

Kingston never belonged in main event….he never stopped throwing pancakes and being goofy so it is probably best they just put him back in midcard
