Are you ever gonna re review these older AEW shows since they’re all on Max now along with the weeklies? Also can you edit AEW page to look like WWE page where ppvs are at the top?

  2. Sebastian Howard says:

The big main event tonight is Cody vs. Chris Jericho for the latter’s World Title, but if Cold loses he can never challenge for the title”

Ok. Here goes. I am not going to go over whole card, but I do want to touch on a few things
    1. The whole Cody/Jericho angle, While AWESOME; let me just say and I mean that (so no one gets upset) fell a little flat to me when the stip came up with Cody. Yeah yeah it set up the HEEL turn by MJF but even if you are a casual or lapsed fan, you could see the heelish characteristics in MJF. He has emulated Jericho EC3 and Miz But he has his own spin. Plus everybody knows in wrestling that stips are only added to matches to add more drama. I get it, I really do, but this match did not need the stip. A heel turn is executed best when no one expects it
If Bobby Heenan did not say at bash in 96 (is he the third man) I get it that it fit his character since on screen he did not not like Hogan, that comment took the air out of the turn but the turn was still Shocking Hogan was a heel in the early days but he was white milk baby face forever.
I will also add that Ciampa,s turn was GREAT as well

You know down the road something will happen where Cody will get his shot. I know he’s trying to get people invested but the wrestling fans of today are too smart to believe that you won’t wrestle for the title

    2. Now on to Omega/Mox. I think what their narrative in the story were both guys were trying to pull in fans trying to mimic each other’s gimmicks Omega was going hardcore while Mox was going for Dominion lengths of CZW.
Inside you could see Mox winking at Vince saying this is what I would have done to golden boy Lesnar at mania They hung Boss man by the neck at mania 15 and what reaction did it get. A bad reaction.

I like Omega I do, but the only way a lengthy match works is if you have a history with that opponent, a grudge or you are to trying to elevate someone in a gauntlet style of match(Rollins last year,Kofi this year). False finishes only work if it adds to the match Shawn kicking out of tombstone Rock kicking out of leg drop. Gargano overcoming Ciampa in New Orleans. You can’t recreate what we have already seen. Overproduction of moves and spots done over and over just make the match look like a Fast and Furious movie

I’m not saying Omega is done by any stretch of the imagination but even in this new company in every match he’s trying to recreate that okada or New Japan magic with different opponents, well I will withhold comments but I have not seen that yet from omega at least in AEW. Okada is special and so were his matches with omega and quite frankly everyone. That’s not a bad thing. It’s just omega has not found his steamboat yet in AEW.

One last thought. I think Randy Orton needs a new finisher and him and DDP are over like rover. Everyone loves using cutters so much. Who knew HBK had such a SUPER finish to a match. I can still remember hickenbottom using a back suplex Keep up the great work KB and thank you for what you do

Mox/Kenny was like other matches in AEW where there are way too many spots that they start to lose their impact. I just wanted it to end and rolled my eyes when Kenny kicked out of the first paradigm shift. You could have cut this match in half and gotten the exact same result. Still a really solid PPV overall though.

  5. Jay H says:

Yeah i was not a fan of that Match especially when they broke out the Barbwire Bed and it went longer than it needed to especially for a No DQ Match which im usually a fan of but that was really absurd.

Solid PPV besides that, i liked Cody/Jericho, Adam Page/PAC, and the Tag Title Matches the most.

  6. TEW says:

I dont really know why a D+ seems inappropriate,Kb is a Old School Fan everyone has their taste.MJF is coming out of this looking the best.Im just very unsure wear Jericho goes from here, continue a feud with Cody or is Moxley getting that spot.MJF joining the inner Circle dosent make story-line success particularly so like who next.Cody and Jericho had a perfect conclusion match,in fact u could cut a good 4 5 minutes off.I understand that MJF has huge heat now but i feel like the Cody cant challenge for the World Championship was built to much.Im all over the place thinking about the next AEW Headline but I digress Amazing show, coudnt have expected better. It left me hopeful.

Btw Moxley vs Omega was amazing whats this guy talking about

  7. Aeon Mathix says:

Omega vs Moxley was the most fun I’ve had watching wrestling since probably Wrestle Kingdom this year. But I completely get if it’s not your style. My wife was hiding under the blanket almost the entire time.

  8. Shane says:

“In a match where someone too a brainbuster onto a steel chair, he wins the match five minutes later?”

You’re an NXT fan. Should be used to that kind of ridiculous selling of which I could find after a 10 second search of Takeovers.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Outside of Cole vs. Gargano, which got ridiculous with some of their stuff, I don’t seem to remember it getting that bad. And this was hardly a main event level match where it’s more acceptable.

      • Shane says:

I think the consensus is anything involving johnny gargano gets a little ridiculous in the selling aspect. Ciampa matches come to mind.

Also I only remember cause I was there live but in the NXT title match with Black VS Andrade, Andrade double kneed his head into the post, black kicked out and then hit black mass like 2 minutes later.

        • Thomas Hall says:

Yeah that’s not good either. I can forgive it more in a big title match, and that would seem to be less impactful, but it’s still a bit much.

  9. Greg says:

So Cody did a stipulation that only hurt himself and was unnecessary. He then proceeded to bring a guy who is obviously a heel with him. Cody just looks dumb. I didn’t like this at all.

    • Thomas Hall says:

One of his brother’s biggest stories was teaming with Arn Anderson, who literally told him he would stab Dustin in the back, only to do exactly what.

      It’s a family thing.

    • Jordan says:

I think the heel turn was done really well, but it was still way too early. Cody and MJF have been together like 3-4 times on TV. It’s hard to believe these guys were close friends when this angle barely went on a few months.

  10. TokyoPop says:

    “D+”?

    Completely out of your mind.
