Aew, while not really revolutionary has really done some amazing things in their year and a half. However, and this is not a complaint, as you said KB there is SO much content out there to choose from. No longer are we forced to watch just one company We can watch it all. The internet has helped push and promote wrestling to the far stretches of the globe

However, it has also hurt wrestling. I will honestly admit I go on wrestling sites to read reviews or see news. There are no genuine suprises anymore.

On your summer slam poll you recently put up, one of the overwhelming favorites on the poll was summer slam 1992 That was TAPED over the weekend in London but to us watching we thought it was live as we were watching for the first time everywhere else. I did not have a pen pal from London that was at the show beforehand telling me the results
Also back in the day wrestling did storylines where you had to watch the pay per view to find out the continuation of a storyline. “Whos the third man that’s going to betray wcw at bash at the beach in 96 comes to mind. Did I order the pay per view, yes Was I disappointed. Nope

Also I loathe the term casual wrestling fans. I get it and understand that everything has a beginning and that sometimes you can tune out of the program for months or years, however no one watches wrestling casually in my opinion.
Wwe has lost a lot of the core audience from the attitude era days and now you have those same fans saying well it’s not Austin or Rock or even mick Foley It’s not edgy with body parts or foul language or hands for babies. Guess what. Wrestling will never reach that plateau again It was a different time around the world then and Wwe I will honestly say took advantage in an advantageous way all the way to the Bank. You and I KB have debated over the year about how Wwe was getting massive ratings, but was the programming really that great. Memorable promos yes but not the greatest in ring. Or vice versa.
I’m not insulting any fans when I say this, but sometimes you can’t get it all right 2000 was a great year for wwe but for WrestleMania that year it felt like an episode of dark or dynamite in that matches were just thrown together for the sake of it every match was multi person! You can’t blame the absence of Austin either as hhh was starting to boom and Rock was really on fire. Wwe just did not want to give away a rock or hhh match one on one at mania any smart wrestling fan knew that it was going to come down to rock and hhh in the end

I am 40. . I’m a flair,a piper and hogan and savage and sting etc etc fan. I do not have the luxury of really grasping how big Sammartino was or blassie or morales or Lou thez. I would always hear jr or solie as a kid say wow this kid has got Lou thez or somebody from the past all over it. If I was born in 1949 I would probably look at hogan and say gosh this guys a cartoon character but hey kB that’s what drew me in and I think it drew you in as well.
Do I watch wrestling as a whole, absolutely but to sum up my post and your writing,Give me a reason to watch and I will watch

If I may the problem seems to be AEW putting all (or close to it) Its eggs in the barsket of Internet Wrestling fans. Now I think it’s no secret that Internet fans watch far more wrestling then the casual and thair tastes are probably more obscure as well. When it comes to shows like Dark and Dineamitye (to a lesser exnait) They believe Internet fans are most likely to watch thair product and therfore don’t put instant promos or Vinagetes as AEW thinks thair fans know who they already are I don’t watch AEW so this mini essay may be pointless but that’s the impression I get from thair product. It may expain why Excalabur considers himself a legend even though nobody really knows why.
