WWE Releases Zelina Vega

Are you really surprised?

Vega is one of the more prominent Twitch streamers in WWE and on Friday, she sent out a tweet saying she supported unionization. The release came less than an hour later and I’m surprised it took that long.

At the end of the day, this could be the tip of a nasty iceberg, but at the same time it also shows why forming a union is going to be really difficult: WWE can drop someone at the drop of a hat. How many wrestlers do you think would be right there waiting to take Vega’s spot and become a star on WWE’s back? I’m not saying it can’t happen, but it’s an uphill climb starting in loose rocks. WWE is being rather extreme in the Twitch battle, but at the same time, until something changes, they’re going to be able to do almost whatever they want.

I’ve never been part of a union where I worked, but several of my family members have. All I have to say is be careful of what you wish for.

She created an onlyfans, which is a sorta an xrated Instagram. That probably contributed 2 her release

Unions are good in theory but its a pipe dream. They’ll never agree on what it should be.

And your right KB it’ll only gives someone else to get an opportunity with a spot open.

With Aleister Black being married to Zelina Vega, do you think he’s going to be jobbed out for awhile now?

I mean….his last win was in July and that was by DQ. He hasn’t had a match in a month so it’s not like they’re doing much with him in the first place. Hopefully it stays like this as I’d rather have that than seeing him lose to Tucker and Erik.

    • Mike M. says:

He’ll be moved back to RAW where Tucker will put him through a table for 10 weeks in a row as part of an “angle.”

I’m not going to take a side here, but I wouldn’t be posting stuff about unionizing in the WWE on my social media page(s) if I worked there.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Apparently she posted that after she knew she was gone. That does make her seem a heck of a lot less dumb.

      • Justin Lewis says:

Hmmmm. So was it something else then that caused her to be released?

        • Thomas Hall says:

Oh it was the Twitch deal. Vega has been one of the more prominent names in there. Unless there’s a BIG story out there that hasn’t been revealed yet, I’d be stunned if it was anything else. She was on twitch during Smackdown and talking about the situation, so I can’t imagine it was something else.

          • Justin Lewis says:

I’m confused; Your article said she posted a tweet saying she supported unionization, then she was released an hour later. You’re saying now she posted that after she was released instead of before?

          • Thomas Hall says:

From what I can piece together, she knew of the release, then posted the tweet, then it was announced publicly. I didn’t know about the released before the tweet part when I wrote the article.

          • Justin Lewis says:

OK, that clears it up. Thanks!

  6. Mike M. says:

Tweets about unionization, gets released 10 minutes later. Some awful coincidental timing.
