Christian isn’t a rumour for the ladder match, he’s a rumour for Paul Wight’s “Hall of Fame worthy” debut. Two debuts happening tonight.

Honestly seeing Cornettes head explode is worth it enough for me with the main event

Wait; AEW has a PPV on a Sunday? Haven’t they been holding their PPVs on Saturdays? I wonder if this is a 1 off, or if it will change moving forward?

    • Caleb John Undahl says:

There were scheduling issues cause it was supposed to be last Saturday, but Canelos fight was then and they didn’t wanna compete with that, and last night was UFC 259, and I also heard there was Monster Jam at TIAA next door so tonight was the next best date. If anything I think the extra week helped a bit

    • Thomas Hall says:

Yeah I hope it’s a one off. The Saturday night thing is nice.

The main event will draw more people in then chase away.

Show this to someone who isn’t a fan and I don’t think this will turn them into one. This won’t attract new people. I don’t think this helps anyone and is being done just to pacify Moxley.

I remember seeing part of a Sabu barbwire match in ECW and being utterly repulsed. Couldn’t finish it. Even when Ambrose once kissed the barbwire bat (I think in his feud with Lesnar) and you could see his lip get stuck, that also was disgusting.

Though, it could also just be I’m a squeamish little baby. But I don’t think the general public is going to be into something like this. I think repulsion and confusion as to why they would do this is more likely.

I have about 30-40 friends who have never watched AEW ordering it to see what this match will be. So it has served its purpose.

The Main Event screams Wrestling Society X.

  6. Caleb John Undahl says:

Since it’s basically a gimmick PPV, which I actually do like the idea of, I’ll forego my usual Ceiling to Floor predictions as it’s hard to predict quality with either so many people, so many dangerous factors, or so little story, so here we go

I want to see Omega/Moxley purely cause I wasn’t around for FMW or the original ECW and I’ve never seen a CZW match so this is something that ive always wanted to see once in my life. It’ll be hard to watch considering, you know, one false move and someone is either paralyzed, loses a limb or dies. It’s probably not something I’ll ever want to see again, but as a novelty and seeing it for the first time, I’m being optimistic. Omega seems like a lock, as Moxley is probably taking off for maternity leave.

As long as Matt Jackson doesn’t go near a mic tonight, the tag title match should be fine. I love Jericho and MJF, so I’m excited for this, but I really can’t stand the Bucks sometimes. Should be a solid match all in all. I’ll go Bucks in this.

The street fight is gonna be interesting to me because I’m a lifelong sting fan and my dad’s been following his career since the Bladerunners (Google it, kids) and Ricky Starks has more charisma than he knows what to do with, and his selling should be hilarious. Cage is a monster and Darby is probably gonna kill himself at one point in the match, so it’ll be interesting. It won’t be a classic, but it’ll be fun and that’s all I’m asking. I’ll go Sting and Darby, but I won’t be shocked- or upset- if Team Taz wins.

Shida and Mizunami- I’m not sure what to say about it. I’ve seen a grand total now of three full Mizunami matches, and the only one on a stage like this was the Trios tag at Double or Nothing, so I don’t know what to expect. I’m gonna play it safe and go in with no expectations. I like Shida a lot so that at least has my interest. Shida retains in a close one.

At least I’m not the only one who loses any interest in anything Matt Hardy is involved in. He needs to be a manager. He can do awesome character work, but he’s so slow and he telegraph’s way to much to make anything he does in the ring realistic. Page is gonna be his usual awesome self, but Matt makes it really hard to care. I’ll go Page with some dark Order assistance, whichll be fair with private Party and TH2 lurking.

The Ladder Match is gonna be solid I think. Archer and Cody should be able to ground it enough to keep it from being a total spotfest with no psychology, but they’ll do their stuff. Penta and Sky should be fun as the spot monkeys, while Sky may also do the smart man’s match after his commentary on Dynamite. Max is a hard call cause I don’t know a whole lot about him, but he could be entertaining. The mystery guy I’m honestly not sure… I’ve seen a lot of RVD rumors, but I’ve seen a lot of speculation on where Joe Hennig will end up. As far as guys already in the company, Spears has seemed to peak a lot of interest (I can’t believe I just typed that) but honestly as a dark horse pick, I’ll go Eddie Kingston. Sky seems like a likely winner, so I’ll piggyback you KB and say Sky.

I’m always a mark for battle royals. I know there’s a lot of mixed feelings on it, and that’s cool, but I’ll enjoy it. Pac and Fenix are my top pick, but Jurassic Express a close second for me, and Santana and Ortiz are my dark horse pick tonight. Don’t count out Silver and Reynolds either.

Cassidy/Taylor vs Miro/Sabian is one that I like three of the four, but with everything else happening tonight, it’s probably just gonna be there. I’ll go Miro and Sabian, hopefully with Miro killing Taylor.

The buy in match is an interesting one. Baker and Rosa are by far the best in the match. I’ll go Riho and Rosa. Like you said, Britt will be fine as long as she gets the title by the end of the year.

It should be fun tonight, and that’s all I’m looking for. KB, keep up the great work and I’ll be looking forward to seeing your thoughts on the show tonight!!
