I’m giving AEW more of a chance again and I am glad I did. MJF/Punk attracted me. MJF is just so good. AEW just feels fun. Except Orange Cassidy. Hate him.

A giant compliment I could give AEW here is they could have taken stuff off this show and it still would have been good. In fact, it would likely have been better due to the crowd being dead. But to be fair, they do have less PPVs, so I understand the cramming. Don’t like it but I get it.

Also, could someone explain why Wardlow waited so long to turn on MJF? I know there’s something about Wardlow not having an AEW contract but rather a MJF bodyguard contract. But with Tony Khan being visible and a face (I think he’s the on-screen GM?), why would he not sign Wardlow, who is obviously talented in ring. I could see if they did not have Wardlow in matches, kept him as a bodyguard only. Then Tony could say well he isn’t a wrestler, so I won’t sign him. If Wardlow couldn’t quit his contract with MJF, why did he attack here? Or is this not something that is clear yet?

I have tried Googling it but I can’t find anything. Commentary may have mentioned it but I sorta tuned them out.

More confusing I find is, if Wardlow is not under an AEW contract as a wrestler and is only contracted under MJF as his bodyguard, why is he even in matches?

Man, Schiavone blew that Strickland announcement for the home crowd. He held up the clipboard right away and you could see “SWERVE” plane as day. Glad they signed him though. Great talent and hell of a good dude.

Overall, I enjoyed Revolution. The three main events all delivered, but Punk/MJF should have main evented. Like you said KB, drop the trios tornado tag and the TBS title match and this show is a lot more enjoyable view.

Now what the frick is this crap? What is AEW? Is this TNA 2.0? Sure looks like it. Wrestling fans are so stupid. Get a life

    Hey KB,

Thought the show was pretty good except for the crowd but Keith Lee for me, am really not sure about his performance. I saw him from NXT and even there, I always found him to take too much time in setting a spot. Even his facial expressions seem to move in slow motion and it was very apparent today as the crowd wasn’t much reacting to his slow spots I felt.

His performance felt dramatizing and am not sure how much impact he really might have in AEW.

After his opener, he has fallen a bit. I don’t know if it’s his cardio or what, but it hasn’t clicked yet.

The match placement screwed them here. They had 3 crowd poppers to begin, then a super popular star in Conti, followed by the most emotionally draining (in a great way) battle in a long time. I went to bed after Baker/Rosa as I was drained myself. I felt bad for the crowd, they were just zapped. They should’ve saved the Buy-In matches and the TBS Title for Rampage and just had a regular pre game show. It was a great show, but those first three matches were just so brutal and after Punk/MJF I couldn’t go anymore. However, I will say that Wardlow turn was very well done and MJF falling on his own sword was a beautiful way to end that.

Yeah, Punk vs MJF should’ve headlined and at least 3 of those matches could’ve been cut from the PPV and this could’ve been my all-time favorite. Bryan vs Mox didn’t need blood, and Britt vs Rosa just was a weird one with the wrong outcome. Never thought I’d say it but Hangman vs Cole wasn’t worthy of a main event, at least not on this card.

  7. Sebastian Howard says:

Say what you will about nxt but they never ever would have had a ppv this dead.

  8. Sebastian Howard says:

I don’t see how you could rate this show a. It was just too much of a drag with dead crowd after punk/mjf. Good technical work but dead crowds always bring ratings down for me and this was dead. Some wrestlers I’m sure don’t mind it, like Danielson had a good reply to his match with aj doing crickets and he said he enjoys the silence as it helps him think clearly and go through his motions basically. Which makes sense for someone like him but with a dead crowd shit like cole/page just seems so fake. Jrs commentary was awful too as he literally asked if the aew championship was new and just said generic shit during the main like he didn’t even care. He’s senile and needs to be taken off tv, he really doesn’t care. But yeah dead crowd drags this down to like a c or d for me. Punk mjf is only thing you need to watch. Sting almost killed himself for absolutely no reason.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I tend to not notice/care about the crowd. If they didn’t like the show, fair enough. The show did kill them off though and MJF/Punk should have headlined.

  9. Sebastian Howard says:

Crowd died after punk mjf, show was a drag. They weren’t as hot as they should’ve been either and I think it was punks entrance being changed that therw the crowd off. But holy shit I’ve never seen a dead Adam cole entrance or brawl in the crowd until now.
