Ok quick thoughts on the show: everything up until Bianca/Lynch was unimportant and boring af. Lynch/Bianca was good, Cody/Seth was good, rhonda/Charlotte was just ok kind of bleh and a a dead crowd and the main was… kind of a cool throwback though I do kind of have a problem with Austin going over. Dudes almost 60 and beating a supposed main eventer. I’ll excuse it I guess because its a fun moment and because KO hasn’t been doing shit anyway but if this was Punk/Austin which is what they were teasing back in 2011-12 I would’ve been pissed if Austin had won.

“That was the case last year though and the first night went well so maybe history can repeat itself.”

Last years night one was terrible. Dead crowd that got rained on, just terrible.

Oh man how bad was that….probably. Didn’t watch and don’t care. WWE and wrestling in general are a joke. I feel bad for the people who bought tickets for this night as it looks like both Women’s championships were on this show. Women don’t belong in the ring. Period

Austin is still more over than the roster. Dude is a legit all time legend and perhaps goat

I know the neck beards will complain about Austin coming back and getting a spot like this but unfortunately for them, he gets a bigger reaction with a glare then any of their favorite indie gymnasts get trying to kill themselves every night. THAT is star power and larger than life presence.

    • Sebastian Howard says:

I don’t think you have to be a neckbeard to have a complaint with an older star beating a newer star. I mean were only neckbeards upset that Ultimate Warrior beat Trip in 96? I mean granted no one knew how big of a star Trip was going to become but that still looks awful. This wasn’t as bad and as a one time thing for Texas and nostalgia I get it but I still think its more important to build the newer stars rather than relying on nostalgia. Imagine if in 1997 Austin had to job to Hogan because Hogan got a bigger reaction than him? That’s the same thinking that led WCW to death.

    • Sebastian Howard says:

Actually here’s a more modern example of someone getting buried by that same mindset when they obviously should’ve gone over. Orton/Hogan in 06, Orton got buried and I think just about everyone agrees he should’ve gone over there and Hogan’s a dick. I’m not exactly saying that’s the same situation here as I’m sure KO wanted to put Austin over as you could tell he really respected the hell out of him and sold like a mofo but I do not like your mindset that anyone who prioritizes building new stars over old stars who get a bigger reaction equals neckbeard. In any instance its short sighted to have someone who can’t continue to make you money beat someone who is going to keep being on your show. The only reason its really excusable is that they didn’t want to piss off fans by having a heel win on night one.
