Damn that was Okadas first appearance on dynamite? You undersold it so much I figured he had been there numerous times lol

    • Thomas Hall says:

Yeah that wasn’t good. I should have done that better.

      • Jerry Rig says:

Oh I wasn’t chastising sorry if it came off that way, I know you do these live just surprised me watching on YouTube and then saying it was his dynamite debut

KB I agree with your overall view here. I know of Osprey and a couple other names that have been brought in the past month, but I’ve never seen them wrestle. So there is a bit of intrigue to see them in the ring, but beyond that I have no connection with any of them. The rest of united empire might as well be ninjas in masks. The commentary pops for everyone like it’s a huge deal and then there’s me “ho hum, another name to learn for the next month maybe”

I’ve watched a few wrestle kingdoms since jericho went over there so I have a bit more njpw knowledge than you but I’m pretty much in the same boat. At least the smart crowd is hot for it but I haven’t really given a shit about njpw since like pre covid.

To be fair to Tony I don’t think this booking would’ve been such a cluster if punk hasn’t gotten injured as I don’t think they even had these many interpromotional matches set up for forbidden door, it was just going to be punk vs njpw dude maybe a couple other njpw vs aew matches but since punk got injured tony felt he had to overload the card to get people to buy the ppv.

    • Showtime says:

Are we talking about the same Tony here who is sporting a roster of well over 100, and that’s not including NJPW

      • Sebastian says:

Most of the roster aren’t even on TV or are stuck on dark/rampage. When’s the last time you saw Sonny kiss or Joey janela do anything?

        • Ultimo Burger says:

Not disagreeing, but as an FYI Joey Janela’s contract with AEW expired at the start of May. I think he’s with DDT now. Can’t say he was used much before this though.

    • Thomas Hall says:

The injuries did hurt it, but it has run so far with all of the NJPW guys that it is overkill.
