That main event was the most fun I have had watching wrestling in at least a decade. Surprised it only got a B+. I imagine watching it twice lost some of its allure. Curious to see how it holds up in the redo next year.

“I can’t say I see Cody as the long term star”
    Why exactly?
Big statement like that needs some backup.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I don’t see him as a big, long term face of WWE.

      • Guy Incognito says:

        Reason being?

        • Thomas Hall says:

I don’t see him as the big long term face of the company.

          • Guy Incognito says:

            Welp, that answers absolutely nothing.
Do you see anyone else as the long term face of the company?

          • Thomas Hall says:

Actually it does answer it. The answer was “I don’t see it happening.” You just don’t like the answer.

And as of right now, no.

The only one I can think of is bron Brakker He’s the only realistic long term choice for face of the company If it’s not Cody. Was that who you’re thinking of?

          • Thomas Hall says:

He’s up there as well. The thing is there isn’t always a face of the company, or at least not a clear one. Breakker could be, but it’s way too early to tell.

Oh man how bad was Night 2 probably? Nothing in that main event made sense and they just buried the bloodline. Cody looks weak cause he needed help from part timers. Where was Austin if they were going to do this? Rock and Cena have no history and their interaction was pointless. They also brought back that guy from the Shield. I was excited cause we hadn’t seen him since 2014. And then they made him look stupid. No wonder he left the company. And where was Seth Rollin’s run in? He tagged with Cody the night prior and didn’t even try to do a run in? WHY? And did they seriously give the dude from 3MB the other world title? LOL. What a terrible Wrestlemania this was. I even heard the ringer announcer was crying when announcing Cody as the winner. I would have cried to if I had to watch this awful show.

  4. Nick says:

Roman’s banter with Paul about “rubbing it in his face” and “I love beating his ass” was great. We’re definitely in a new era with Damien Priest, Rhodes, and the others grabbing their Wrestlemania moments. I feel like the only real stinker of the weekend was Pride vs Final Testament, but it’s a tolerable stinker. Snoop’s commentary carried it imo.

Can’t wait to see what happens this year.

  5. Codyfan says:

    > I can’t say I see Cody as the long term star,

Huh? He’s already been a long term star.

    • Thomas Hall says:

I’m not seeing him as the next long term face of the company. Feels like a six month or so thing before we move on to whatever is next.

      • Codyfan says:

He’s been the long term face of the company since at least Jan. 2023.

        • Thomas Hall says:

No he hasn’t. Roman Reigns has been the face of the company for years now and it really hasn’t been close.

          • Codyfan says:

Yes he has. Roman Reigns makes infrequent appearances.

Cody is on TV every week, working house shows, interacting with fans on social media, making appearances, doing TV hits, etc.

          • Thomas Hall says:

That doesn’t make him the face of WWE. It makes him a top star.

          • Codyfan says:

            >That doesn’t make him the face of WWE. It makes him a top star.

            >> I can’t say I see Cody as the long term star,

You literally said “long term star.” He’s been a long term star.

With all the media appearances he makes and house shows he headlines, he’s the face of WWE.

They had 15 months to move on from Cody. Why now?

          • Thomas Hall says:

Based on that logic, the Miz and Natalya, who are out there for every media appearances, are the faces of WWE.

Cody Rhodes has been a top star for a good while now. Being THE top star started last night. I don’t see that lasting long.

          • Codyfan says:

            Well, no.

            >Based on that logic, the Miz and Natalya, who are out there for every media appearances, are the faces of WWE.

Did Miz and Nattie win back to back Royal Rumbles? Did they main event Wrestlemanias two years in a row? Are they involved in feuds with one of the biggest movie stars on the planet?

            >Cody Rhodes has been a top star for a good while now. Being THE top star started last night. I don’t see that lasting long.

He’s the #1 merchandise seller. He won the world title in a match featuring John Cena, The Undertaker and The Rock.

They’ve been pushing him nonstop since he returned in Jan. 2023.

And you think they are just going to give up on him after a few months?

            Why?

          • Thomas Hall says:

I don’t think he’s a long term face of the company, no.

        • Codyfan says:

          Why?

          He’s their #1 merchandise seller.

There is no data, concrete or anecdotally that points to this, so how did you come to this conclusion?

          • Thomas Hall says:

You know who else was the #1 merch seller for a good while? Jey Uso. You keep throwing out this data and while it’s all accurate, it doesn’t make Cody the be all and end all.

As for why, like I said, I just don’t see it.

          • Codyfan says:

Look who just won the Royal Rumble?

          • Thomas Hall says:

He did indeed, though we’ll see how well it goes. It’s still hard for me to fathom him winning the title, even if that’s what the signs are pointing towards.

          • Codyfan says:

            >It’s still hard for me to fathom him winning the title, even if that’s what the signs are pointing towards.

            Well?

          • Thomas Hall says:

I saw the signs there and that’s what they did.

      • Codyfan says:

        Well?

  6. S.K Terror Wolf says:

First off good review, but you’re still posting WrestleMania’s 38 and 39 right?

    • Thomas Hall says:

I am yes. Just got really busy and didn’t have the chance. 39 has a brand new version written but once the new stuff started going up I put it on the backburner. They’re absolutely going up in the next day or so though.
