Dave Meltzer rated Ospreay vs Davis 5.75 stars, which makes it tied for the 14th best match ever and 4th best AEW match ever. That’s also higher than every WWE match.

I think that’s the largest difference between Meltzer and KB’s ratings ever, except for maybe Hogan vs Andre at WrestleMania 3

My eyes bugged out when I saw this and apparently some others did as well. Meltzer has said it was a typo and the match was supposed to be 4.75 rather than 5.75, which is far more reasonable.

Yeah, since I started watching AEW I’ve felt that its an exhausting and frustrating show. I guess I like it more than WWE right now because the WWE just feels completely overproduced and soulless, but its frustrating because AEW has the talent and the budget to be great, but the booking, in my opinion, is embarassingly awful. There are some great athletic matches sometimes, but I personally don’t really care for the kitchen sink mentality there. Right now there is no wrestling show that I feel I have to watch in its entirety, I could watch it but living outside of the US is kinda of difficult to acces AEW and it just does not seem worth it, I rather read here and watch catches my interest on Youtube. RAW, Smackdown and the WWE PLEs are all live on Netflix in my country, and even then I don’t care to watch the whole thing. Just what catches my interest on youtube.

This is of course subjective, AEW has a pretty loyal fanbase that seems to like the way they do things, and thats fine, to each their own. And to be fair to Tony Khan, this mentality of MORE MORE MORE is present in a lot of popular forms of entertainment lately. Movies, games, shows, comics, books, sports, I guess the way we consume media so fast using the internet and have so many options fighting for our attention changed things and everything now seems a bit excessive.

Anyway, this was a great read as always, Andrade and MJF could be interesting if they go in this direction I think.

AEW rarely does interference in its tournament matches; this was an exception. I thought, being a WWF fan, you were used to interference. You never once ranted about your Bloodline cinema or MFT, or about how a new wrestler gets domesticated every month.
