Worlds Collide 2026

Here we have a special, which was certainly not designed to mess with the AEW pay per view taking place at the same time. It’s WWE/NXT/AAA getting together for a special combined show, with CM Punk and some other guest stars involved. We also have a Reina de Reinas Title match as Roxanne Perez gets a shot at new champion La Catalina. Let’s get to it.

Mascarita Sagrada/Mr. Iguana/Adelicious/La Parka vs. Vanity Project/Mini Abismo Negro

Iguana, and Yesca, scares Smokes away so it’s off to Adelicious to roll Lockwood up for a quick two. Lockwood is right back up with a flipping fall away slam for two, which has JBL rather pleased. Adelicious is able to snap off a headscissors and Iguana comes back in for a spinning DDT to Baylor. Parka and Sagrada get in some running shots in the corner so Smokes comes back in, with Parka suplexing Smokes and Baylor at once.

That means it’s time for Parka to dance and then flip away from Smokes out of the corner, only to get clotheslined out to the floor. The villains get in a bunch of stomping on the floor and it’s Baylor coming back in for some gyrating of his own. Abismo’s running shot in the corner gets two and Smokes’ slingshot spear cuts Parka down for two. A flapjack finally gets Parka out of trouble and Iguana comes in to clean house.

That includes a springboard headscissors and it’s off to Sagrada (JBL: “I’ve always wanted to buy a mini!”). The suicide dive hurricanrana takes Abismo down on the floor but Sagrada runs into Lockwood back inside. Adelicious has to save Sagrada from a gorilla press and then dives onto Lockwood on the floor. Iguana and Parka hit dives of their own and Sagrada does his rather spinning headscissors into a small package to pin Abismo at 12:09.

Rating: B-. This is the signature kind of fast paced opening match that always works in AAA. Let them fly around and pop the crowd, which is exactly what you should be doing here. You get a bunch of people on the card and they get to do stuff without being out there too long. Fun opener, which was the goal here.

Corey Graves pays a quick tribute to Pac, who was his tag partner in NXT. That one still hurts.

Jack Cartwheel vs. Dragon Lee

They go with the grappling to start and flip away from each other without much effort. Cartwheel seems to win a flipping contest (the four straight standing cartwheels are hard to top) and headscissors him out to the floor. That means the Sasuke Special can connect with Lee, who is right back in with a slingshot dropkick in the corner.

Cartwheel is sent to the apron and tries some kind of a kick but gets knocked to the floor instead. Back in and Cartwheel flips out of a German suplex but is lifted up into a powerbomb for two. A running hurricanrana to the floor doesn’t work as Cartwheel sticks the landing, with Lee being rather stunned.

They slug it out on the outside and they go back inside, where Cartwheel hits a clothesline to the floor. Lee is fine enough to superkick him over the barricade but Cartwheel is back up with a Spanish Fly inside. Cartwheel fights out of the Styles Clash and grabs a poisonrana but a Black Arrow (in an amazing coincidence) hits raised knees. Operation Dragon finishes for Lee at 8:58.

Rating: B. You knew why this was on the card and it went exactly as you would have expected. This was two smaller, impressive high fliers being sent out there to do a bunch of crazy things. As usual that worked very well and it wouldn’t have been a AAA show without a match like this one. Lee is on fire right now and I could go for seeing more of him in the near future.

We look at Omos taking out Rey Mysterio at TripleMania, leaving Mysterio in a neck brace.

Fatal Influence vs. Las Toxicas

Non-title. Jacy Jayne and La Maravilla are here too, with JBL absolutely losing his mind at the entrances. Hiedra and Henley start things off with Hiedra sending her straight into the corner. It’s quickly off to Reid, who avoids a charge in the corner, allowing Flammer and Henley to come in instead. Henley gets double crotched against the post and Hiedra gets two off la majistral.

Everything breaks down and Hiedra hits both of them with some running hip attacks in the corner. Jayne offers a distraction, which just lets Flammer come in with a double high crossbody. Another Jayne distraction lets Reid get in a faceplant and a flapjack into a running Blockbuster gets two.

The chinlock doesn’t last long and Hiedra avoids some charges, allowing Flammer to get the hot tag. A suicide dive hits Reid but Henley is back in with a sliding German suplex. Reid’s moonsault gets two with Hiedra making the save. Flammer gets in a big running dropkick in the ropes but Hiedra is legal so there’s no count. Hiedra comes in and is immediately rolled up to give Reid the pin at 10:13.

Rating: C+. This was fine for a women’s tag match and a way to get more women on the card. That’s a good idea in this case, as the AAA women’s division has been hit and miss a lot of the time. WWE’s division isn’t much better but it has more star power and Fatal Influence have been doing well in their few months on the main roster.

Axiom vs. Mini Vikingo vs. Je’Von Evans vs. EK Prosper

The idea is that there’s one from each brand. They circle each other to start until Vikingo hits Evans in the face. Vikingo and Prosper are sent outside, leaving Evans to flip away from Axiom. Prosper is back in to take over on Evans until Vikingo is back in with a corkscrew high crossbody. Vikingo’s dive takes out Prosper for two and Fraxiom small packages Vikingo for two more.

The other two get back inside but Axiom and Evans are sent outside for a huge springboard moonsault from Prosper. Back in and Prosper gives Vikingo a super hurricanrana in to a frog splash for two. Evans and Axiom are back in for some rollups before Evans starts to take over.

The big dive to the floor hits Axiom and Vikingo gets two off a crucifix driver. Axiom and Evans get two each off super Spanish Flies before Evans hits him with a running knee. Prosper is back in to knee Vikingo for two and Evans gives Axiom an OG Cutter. That means Prosper can hit his great moonsault but Vikingo is in with a shooting star. The Phoenix 630 (geez) gives Vikingo the pin on Axiom at 12:40.

Rating: B. Of course this was good and it’s smart to have Vikingo, the AAA star, get his big win here. It was all action from beginning to end and everyone looked great. I was surprised that Evans didn’t win as he’s the biggest star of the match and currently firmly in the Raw midcard. Vikingo is clearly a big project though and him getting the win is a good move. More awesome high flying here.

Reina de Reinas Title: Roxanne Perez vs. La Catalina

Catalina is defending and grabs a headlock to start. That’s reversed into some quick rollups for two each before Perez gets in a rather cocky slap. That just earns her a spinning slam and elbow for two but Perez is back up for some forearms to the back. They head outside with Catalina being sent into the steps, followed by a kick to the face back inside.

A flipping kick to the head gives Perez two and she grabs a sleeper. That’s broken up and Perez misses a charge into the corner, setting up Catalina’s missile dropkick. Back up and they forearm it out with Catalina taking over off an exchange of running uppercuts. Perez knocks her down but a springboard moonsault hits raised knees.

Catalina’s Gory Bomb is countered into an armdrag and Perez faceplants her into the crossface. That’s escaped and Catalina gets in a running hip attack against the ropes. Perez sends her outside and hits a suicide dive but can’t get Pop Rox. Instead Catalina grabs a flipping backslide to retain at 12:43.

Rating: B-. This was a good win for Catalina and that’s why the match was put together. Perez is a star with some status and having Catalina beat her makes the still new title reign feel that much more legitimate. The match was back and forth as well, with Perez feeling like a threat to take the title.

Post match Perez lays her out and poses with the belt.

Los Perros del Mal vs. Penta/Rey Fenix

Penta has been dealing with Los Perros and now has his brother to help. Fenix and Berto start things off with Fenix trying to roll around and an exchange of near falls get two each. Penta and Daga come in and Fenix help take over. Everything breaks down and some stereo basement superkicks hit Berto, as does an elevated splash to Berto. Penta and Daga strike it out until Penta chases him on the floor, right into a cheap shot.

Back in and Penta quickly gets over to Fenix but Karmen Petrovic cuts off a dive so Berto can come in and work on the leg. A tag attempt is cut off and it’s back to Daga to stomp away in the corner. Fenix manages a pop up hurricanrana though and…well actually doesn’t tag, instead hitting a frog splash.

Now it’s back to Penta to hurricanrana Berto before Fenix comes back in, with his handspring cutter being blocked. Daga brainbusters Fenix for two and a running forearm gets the same. Back up and Fenix hits a rolling cutter into Penta’s running Mexican Destroyer to Berto, sending him outside. Petrovic gets on the apron for a distraction though and Daga goes low for the DQ at 15:17.

Rating: B. This was the second biggest match on the show and feels like it could become part of a big feud. It could be interesting to see who Penta and Fenix get to help them against Los Perros as they’re rather outnumbered at the moment. The ending definitely suggests that there is more coming and it was nice to see Los Perros avoid another big loss.

Post match the rest of Los Perros come in but Fenix and Penta clear them out.

We look at El Grande Americano winning the Mega Title at TripleMania with help from Rey Mysterio.

Omos/Judgment Day vs. CM Punk/El Grande Americano/Rey Mysterio

Before the match, Dorian Roldan rants about Omos and Dominik Mysterio, with the fans not approving. Punk even goes old school with the Straightedge Society mask and is of course over like free (non-alcoholic) beer in a frat house. To really mix it up though, we go old school with This Fire Burns, which is a great flashback. Americano starts with McDonagh…but they both tag in their respective Mysterio.

Rey hammers away and grabs a headscissors, allowing Punk to work on the arm. McDonagh comes in and gets his arm cranked as well but actually gets Punk in a wristlock. That’s broken up and Punk shoulders him down and gets a catapult to send McDonagh into the corner. A tilt-a-whirl backbreaker allows the tag to Americano for quite the reaction. Some impressive flipping sets up a hammerlock, with McDonagh getting a headlock but Americano headstands his way out.

Back up and McDonagh drives him into the corner for the tag off to Dominik. Americano stomps Dominik right back and gets two off a running kick to the face. Rey comes back in and tries the 619 to Dominik, who rolls away so McDonagh can take over. That doesn’t last long either as it’s right back to Americano, who is knocked down as well. Omos comes back in and elbows away in the corner before handing it off to Dominik. Americano’s fingers are bitten before McDonagh gets to rip at the mask.

A Blockbuster gets Americano out of trouble and we get what I’m guessing is some mistiming, as Americano basically has to freeze in place rather than tagging. It doesn’t make much sense anyway as Americano gets over for the tag a few seconds later and it’s a string of running knees to Judgment Day in the corner.

Omos teases coming in but gets the rope kicked into him, which is quickly shrugged off. Omos is back in so all three good guys get together to knock him outside again. Some dives have Omos in trouble but Dominik tries Three Amigos on Rey. The third is broken up and Dominik has to escape the GTS attempt. Instead it’s a double 619 to Judgment Day and Americano headbutts Dominik. The GTS finishes McDonagh at 20:04.

Rating: B-. It was a big time six man tag and more of a fun match than a good one, which is fine for a main event like this one. The match was a question of whom was going to pin McDonagh, as there’s no way you pin the giant and Dominik doesn’t need to lose any of his heat. This was a good time and how the show should have ended.

Post match the bad guys are back up to fight back but the lights go out…and it’s Oba Femi here for the save (ok that’s a better ending). Judgment Day bails and we get the Femi vs. Omos showdown. Omos shoves him and is immediately clotheslined over the top. Femi celebrates to end the show.

Overall Rating: B. What you had here was basically a big commercial for AAA, as you had all kinds of high flying and some big names in the main event. That’s in addition to the title defense and the tag match, which should set up a rematch. It’s not a must see show, but it’s rather entertaining and felt like a AAA focused event with some guest stars. This show did its job and that’s more than enough.

AAA On FOX

It’s a holiday in America and that probably means absolutely nothing for this show, which is doing quite well without the American side of things. The big story coming out of last week continues to be whomever is attacking the Psycho Circus. Other than that, we have a former World Champion here and that should be making for an interesting situation. Let’s get to it.

Here are last week’s results if you need a recap.

Opening sequence.

Here is Rey Mysterio for a chat. Mysterio talks about how he wants to bring the best to the fans in Mexico so join him in welcoming former WWE World Champion, Damian Priest! JBL: “As an old guy in a cowboy hat used to say, business is picking up!” Priest runs down some of his resume and says he’s dominated in WWE but never in AAA.

He isn’t here to make friends and doesn’t care if you’re good or bad, because he’s ready to destroy. Priest tells us to rise because El Campeon is here. This was a nice moment and Priest should fit in well around here. If nothing else, it’s nice to see him doing the serious stuff instead of paling around with R-Truth.

Lady Shani vs. Flammer

Non-title and the rest of Las Toxicas are here with Flammer. Shani armdrags her down to start and they shove each other a bit, with Shani getting the better of things. Flammer trips her to the mat and hammers away, followed by a kick to the leg in the corner. A spinebuster puts Shani down and Flammer shakes her head a bit, followed by the choking in the corner.

Flammer sends her into another corner but Shani reverses into a choke. An armdrag sends Flammer into the corner for a facewash, followed by some kicks to the head. Shani grabs a bodyscissors and rolls her around into a cradle for two. Flammer is back up with a hammerlock drop for two so she goes outside to grab the title. Cue La Catalina to cut that off and Shani grabs a Backstabber. An Iconoclasm is enough to pin Flammer at 8:56.

Rating: C+. This was a way to set things up for later and it’s a nice enough way to make that happen. The thing I like here is that it wasn’t the cleanest finish in the world, with Flammer costing herself rather than just getting beaten on her own. Someone has to end that title reign and while it feels like Catalina is an option, Shani at least feels like a serious challenger.

We look at Pagano being attacked last week and Psycho Clown begging his forgiveness while swearing vengeance.

We recap El Grande American saying he wanted the Mega Title and then being beaten down by the reformed Los Perros del Mal.

El Grande Americano didn’t see that coming and challenges Los Perros del Mal to show up and meet him next week. He just won’t be alone.

Dinamico/Drago vs. Money Machine vs. Mr. Iguana/La Parka

Plata and Iguana start things off, with Plata offering to buy Yesica. Iguana steals the money instead runs runs up the corner for a hurricanrana. Drago tags himself in and flips around a bit, only to get dropkicked by Oro. That’s shrugged off so Drago can hit a running shooting star but it’s off to Dinamico, who gets dropped by Parka.

Money Machine double teams Parka down, with a spinning splash getting two. The two of them are sent outside though and Drago shooting stars onto them as well. Parka flips Dinamico outside as well, leaving Drago to high crossbody Iguana for two. Money Machine takes over on Parka but get dropped by a springboard dive from Dinamico. Back in and Drago dives into a cutter from Parka, who hits the Bone Bender for the pin at 6:57.

Rating: B-. This was about all you needed it to be as they had a fast paced and high flying match. You pretty much know what you’re getting with a match like this and they did exactly what you would have expected. The fans still seem to love Iguana and Parka so giving them a win in a match like this makes perfect sense.

We look at a three way match from Verano de Escalando in 2009.

Rey Mysterio says Damian Priest is from Puerto Rico but represents the culture. As for next week, both Priest and Dominik Mysterio will be here.

Abismo Negro Jr. vs. El Fiscal

Fiscal fires off the clotheslines to start and hits a Backstabber. Back up and Abismo’s hammering doesn’t get him very far as Fiscal hits a clothesline to the floor, setting up the big suicide dive. Abismo misses an elbow off the steps and gets sent into the post but manages to escape a tombstone. They clothesline each other and here are Los Perros del Mal go jump both of them for the double DQ at 4:24.

Rating: C+. These two have quite the story and commentary explained it again rather easily here. It felt like we could be in for a big fight but the ending was more about setting things up for later. Hopefully they get the chance to have their big match at some point in the future because it feels like they’ve earned it.

Los Perros beat the heck out of both of them (though more Fiscal) to end the show.

Overall Rating: B-. This was definitely more about setting things up for the future than doing much here. That’s not a bad thing either as I want to see what is going to happen with most of these stories. Now all they have to do is actually make those stories work and we should be in for something good. AAA continues to be the easiest show to watch anywhere and hopefully that gets even better on the way to TripleMania.

AAA On FOX

The big story coming out of last week was the return of Los Perros del Mal, who reformed with a new lineup to attack El Grande Americano. That’s not going to go well for Americano, who is probably going to need some help. Either way, it feels almost impossible that he isn’t going after the Mega Title at TripleMania so he has some work to do. Let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Here is Psycho Clown, so we recap the Psycho Circus being attacked by someone, who Clown thinks has been Pagano. Back in the arena, Psycho talks about how he is tired of all this and wants to know what is going on. He calls out the rest of the Psycho Circus but none of them know what happened.

Psycho calls out Pagano, who doesn’t show up. The Circus goes to find him…and find a bloody Pagano unconscious in his dressing room. Psycho, who had been swearing revenge during the search, immediately apologizes and begs forgiveness. Pagano wakes up to forgive him, but there is a message on the mirror saying Psycho is next. Interesting indeed.

The Copa Bardahl, a gauntlet elimination match, is returning at TripleMania. We look at Omos winning the most recent edition of the match in dominant fashion.

Galeno vs. Mecha Wolf

How nice of them to have a match almost halfway through the show! Wolf slugs away but gets sent into the corner for some fast clotheslines. Galeno misses a charge to send him outside, where he cuts off Wolf’s dive. Cue Dorian Roldan and Omos to watch as Wolf gets in a cheap shot on the distracted Galeno.

Wolf dropkicks him into the ropes for some running knees to the back but Galeno strikes away. A backsplash and powerbomb get two on Wolf as Galeno’s arm is banged up. Wolf grabs a springboard DDT to limited avail as Galeno blasts him with a clothesline. The cannonball hits Wolf but Galeno stops to glare at Omos. The Galeno Special finishes Wolf at 5:50.

Rating: C+. It’s almost weird to see Galeno treated as a giant but he’s doing a nice enough job of wrestling like one. That should set up a good match between Galeno and Omos, likely with the latter smashing through him. Wolf was little more than cannon fodder here but he did well in that spot.

We look back at a tag match at last year’s Verano de Escandalo with Los Garza winning the Tag Team Titles.

Rey Mysterio was surprised by Los Perros del Mal returning last week but now they have AAA’s attention. In addition, the former WWE World Champion will be here next week and Vikingo will be defending the Latin American Title in NXT. We also get a quick preview of next week’s show.

NXT Women’s Title: Lola Vice vs. La Hiedra

Vice is defending. Hiedra jumps her from behind to start fast and gets an early two off a Michinoku Driver. It’s quickly broken down into a brawl and they crash out to the floor with Hiedra possibly hurting her hip. Back in and Vice kicks away but walks into a spinebuster for two. Hiedra gets her in the corner for some running boots to the spread out thighs and we hit the seated abdominal stretch.

Vice fights up and they grab stereo running faceplants for a double down. Hiedra is knocked outside for a running seated senton, allowing Vice to get in some dancing. Back in and Hiedra hits a quick Stunner, setting up a wheelbarrow faceplant for two. The spinning backfist connects for Vice but here are Las Toxicas for the cheap shot. La Catalina runs in to even things up a bit and another spinning backfist retains the title at 7:42.

Rating: C+. This was a way to have an outside title on the line and that is a good way to spice the show up a bit. La Hiedra was never going to feel like a threat to win the title but Vice is an established name on this show and it was nice to see her getting in a title defense. It might not be the most important thing here but it was a nice treat for the live fans.

Post match Vice dances with La Catalina but Las Toxicas come in to jump them. Lady Shani runs in for a big return and the save to end the show.

Overall Rating: C+. I like the Psycho Circus/Pagano mystery and Galeno vs. Omos should work when it happens. At the same time though, this was another show where it felt like not much was really happening and that’s becoming a bit annoying. The good thing though is the show only runs about forty five minutes so one good segment getting about ten minutes is a big chunk of the show. It’s definitely a different style around here, but hopefully they start giving us a bit more on the weekly shows.

AAA On FOX

We’re done with Noche de Los Grandes and that means it is time to get ready for the next major show, which is likely to be announced soon. There is quite a bit of fallout to deal with from the show and that might start this week. If nothing else, we haven’t heard from Dominik Mysterio that much lately so let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Galio/Golden Jacket vs. Galeno

Galeno runs both of them over to start and sends them outside for various throwing. Back in and the rapid clotheslines have Jacket in trouble in the corner and a double cannonball has JBL begging for mercy. A frog splash to Jacket gives Galeno the double pin at 3:17.

Rating: C. This was exactly what it should have been as Galeno got to go in there and wreck some people. He’s being built up as a monster and uses the power and size advantages that he has rather well. It works for him and that’s not something you see around here, making for a unique and good fit.

Omos sees this and wants three opponents.

Verano de Escalando is on July 25.

Los Vipers vs. Fiscal/Octagon Jr./La Parka

Octagon hurricanranas Taurus down and hands it off to Fiscal, who drops Octagon onto him for the big crash. It’s already back to Octagon to work on the arm and a headscissors drops Taurus again. Negro comes in and gets to face Fiscal so let’s go with Histeria instead. Parka comes in for some dancing and gets to enziguri Taurus into the corner.

A cheap shot lets Histeria take over on Parka, who is launched into a double kick to the ribs for two. The double suplex/high crossbody combination gets two but Parka flapjacks Taurus. Fiscal comes back in to clean house and NOW we get the showdown with Negro. Fiscal sends him outside for the big dive and they brawl up the aisle. Parka moonsaults onto Taurus, leaving Octagon to give Histeria a flipping fall away slam for the pin at 8:45.

Rating: B-. First of all, this doesn’t mean anything as far as Octagon’s injury as from what I can tell, this might have been filmed back in April. Other than that, they have something with the Abismo vs. Fiscal feud and if we ever get a big blowoff, it could go a long way. Parka is always going to get cheered and Los Vipers work well together so this was a nice addition to the show.

We look at El Hijo del Vikingo winning the Latin American Title.

Omos vs. Chris Carter/Kingu/Daimo

Omos splashes them in the corner to start and then does it again a few more times. Kingu and Carter are put up on Omos’ shoulders while he kicks Daimo. A Last Ride to Daimo is enough for the triple pin at 2:38.

We look at Las Toxicas being defeated last week.

Mixed Tag Team Titles: Joaquin Wilde/La Hiedra vs. Lola Vice/Mr. Iguana

Vice and Iguana are defending. Hiedra backs Vice into the corner to start and gets her into an early Brock Lock. Vice is back up and gets to dance as Wilde comes in. That’s enough to distract Wilde so Iguana gets in a blind shot, earning himself a faceplant from Wilde. We pause for Wilde to reapply the hairspray before Iguana small packages him for two.

Iguana fights up without much trouble and brings Vice back in to clean house on Hiedra. Everything breaks down and the champs hit stereo running hip attacks in the corners, followed by some YES Kicks to rock Hiedra. A double faceplant leaves both of them down and Iguana is back in with a high crossbody to Wilde. Back up and Wilde hits a superkick, only to miss a Lionsault. Iguana’s spinning bulldog retains the titles at 8:12.

Rating: C+. AAA does not hide what these titles are about and that’s not a bad thing. These titles are not at all meant to be taken seriously and they’re basically around as an “in case of a boring show, here’s a title match”. Vice and Iguana are fun together and they can do their thing against any random team, which is pretty much what we got here.

Post match the brawl stays on until Las Toxicas run in for the brawl. Bayley and La Catalina make the save and Flammer is beaten down to end the show.

Overall Rating: C. This was a good example of a show that was fun but completely unnecessary viewing. There was pretty much nothing added to the bigger stories here and none of the matches are worth going out of your way to see. The positive side though is that the show is less than fifty minutes (probably closer to forty five when you take out the graphics at the beginning and end) so it’s not like you invest a lot of time. Things will pick up again next week but for now, a totally skippable, yet fine, show.

AAA On FOX

It’s the second night of Noche de Los Grandes and that means we’re going to be seeing some big stuff around here. At the same time though, they might have a bit of a time keeping up with what they did last week. We have a six woman tag this week though and that should be a good time so let’s get to it.

Here are last week’s results if you need a recap.

We open with a recap of last week’s mask vs. mask match which somehow exceeded expectations.

Octagon Jr. vs. Cruz del Toro vs. Lince Dorado vs. Joaquin Wilde vs. Mini Vikingo

For a Cruiserweight Title shot. Octagon and Dorado are sent outside to start, leaving Vikingo to get double teamed. Back to back moonsaults have Vikingo in trouble and Wilde tries a quick rollup. That leaves Wilde to go after del Toro, with the latter getting two off a rollup. Octagon is back in for a spinning high crossbody but Dorado and comes in as well. Dorado flips out of a monkey flip and sends Octagon outside.

Vikingo comes back inside and gets caught with a backbreaker, only to snap off a crazy headscissors. Octagon comes back in and is sent outside again with a hurricanrana. Wilde busts out his hairspray but del Toro hits a big dive to take out the non-Vikingo pile. A rope walk springboard dropkick puts Vikingo down but his hurricanrana gets two. Del Toro and Wilde get in another shoving match before Wilde facebusters Dorado for two more. Back up and Dorado knocks Wilde down and hits a shooting star press for the pin at 7:37.

Rating: B-. This was exactly what you would have expected from this match and that’s not a bad thing. They had a bunch of people flying around until one of them got a pin. That’s all it needed to be and I had a good enough time. Dorado is someone who can serve perfectly well as a first challenger for the title so it’s a good choice on the result too.

Apparently Octagon got badly hurt in there somewhere and was stretchered out. No word on how he’s doing but that’s always scary to see.

The War Raiders are ready for anyone.

El Ojo says the plan is finally coming together.

We get a press briefing with Rey Mysterio, who announces a WWE tour of Mexico and South America, with Raw and Smackdown being held in Mexico City. Also, his issues with Dominik Mysterio will not cause any issues and Dominik will be here later this month. We hear about the two night TripleMania again, with a Mega Title match headlining night two.

We look at a group of women fighting back against Las Toxicas, setting up this week’s main event.

We look at Chad Gable being unmasked and promising to return to AAA.

After last week’s main event, El Grande Americano had to be helped out by Los Americanos and thanks them for what they have done for him. He couldn’t have done this without the fans and people of Mexico who believed in him. Nice stuff here, as you can tell how big this really was for everyone.

Las Toxicas vs. La Catalina/Bayley/Lola Vice

Las Toxicas are dressed as cheerleaders. Catalina starts with Flammer, who does the tag out before fighting thing, which has become WAY too common lately. Maravilla takes Catalina into the corner and it’s off to Hiedra, who gets kneed down just as fast. Vice comes in for the running hip attack in the corner, followed by a triple suplex to the villains.

Some dives hit Las Toxicas but Catalina is sent into the steps. Vice is caught in the wrong corner and a wishbone into a Meteora gets two. Flammer knocks Bayley and Catalina off the apron, followed by a clothesline for two on Vice back inside. Something like a double chickenwing with a bodyscissors has Vice in more trouble.

That doesn’t last long as Vice slips out and brings in Bayley to clean house. The top rope elbow hits Maravilla for two but the Bayley To Belly is countered. Bayley gets crotched against the post for two and Flammer runs from Catalina again. Bayley puts Flammer down and Catalina hits a less than great moonsault for two. Everything breaks down and Maravilla walks into the Bayley To Belly. Catalina is back in with a hip attack and running knee to pin Flammer at 8:38.

Rating: C+. This was a run of the mill six woman tag but the only thing that mattered was having Catalina get the pin on Flammer. It should set them up for a big showdown at some point soon, though I’m still not sure I’m getting the appeal of Catalina. She’s ok enough, but the women’s division doesn’t exactly feel like the highest priority around here.

Overall Rating: C+. It’s weird to see this presented as something of a special as there is absolutely nothing here that stands out as a big deal. Maybe that’s just how things go in AAA as Rey de Reyes was kind of the same thing. Either way, it was a perfectly fine show and they moved some title programs forward. After last week though, it was kind of nice for a bit of a breather and probably rather needed.

We’re back to a fresh show after last week’s taped post-Rey de Reyes event. This week is big enough, as we have Flammer’s Reina de Reinas celebration, but the bigger deal is Penta defending the Intercontinental Title for the first time in AAA. That’s quite the big deal and that has me interested so let’s get to it.

Here are last week’s results if you need a recap.

We’re starting with Flammer’s record setting Reina de Reinas celebration, with the other members of Las Toxicas handling her introduction. We get a video on her title reign, with various comments from celebrities/wrestlers praising the accomplishments. Back in the arena, Flammer says she doesn’t know these people but they’re beneath her.

She beat Bayley and others, but she also wants to thank the Mexican women she stepped on to get here. She has beaten everyone and her coronation will never end. We cut to a pink car and La Catalina is here. This gets quite the reaction and she praises Flammer, but says Flammer has never faced someone like her. Flammer is sent into the cake and gets cleared out as Catalina looks at the title. Catalina was in CMLL as of about two weeks ago so this is quite the fast turnaround.

Octagon vs. Original El Grande Americano

They trade legsweeps and get a near fall each until Americano chops him into the corner. Octagon climbs the corner for a dropkick and nails the suicide dive to the floor. An Asai moonsault misses though and Americano hits a running shoulder. Back in and Americano teases going after the mask but Octagon gives him an enziguri. Something like a top rope Vader Bomb hits raised boots and Americano suplexes him into the corner. Americano misses the moonsault but ties up the legs and takes off Octagon’s mask. The ankle lock makes Octagon tap at 5:28.

Rating: C+. They only had so much time here and the bigger deal was Americano going after the mask. That’s quite the big deal in lucha libre and Rey Mysterio was NOT cool with it on commentary. At the same time, this seems like a setup for the mask vs. mask match with the other El Grande Americano and that should be good.

Post match some singers are interviewed by Americano goes after them. He goes after the interviewer as well and here is El Grande Americano for the brawl. Security can only keep them apart for so long as the fans certainly approve.

Intercontinental Title: El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Penta

Vikingo, with Dorian Roldan, is challenging. They trade poses to start until Vikingo has to elbow his way out of a waistlock. Penta kicks him in the ribs to break up a handstand but Viking grabs a headscissors out to the floor. Vikingo’s dive is cut off with a gorilla press onto the announcers’ table but he hits a dropkick off of said table to put Penta down again.

Back in and Penta gets superkicked for two and Vikingo bites Penta’s boot. Penta is right back up with a reverse Sling Blade as the fans are way into this. The Penta Driver is blocked and Vikingo ties him in the ropes for a top rope double stomp. They forearm it out from their knees and then their feet until Penta’s dropkick breaks up a handspring. Vikingo sends him into the corner for the running knees but the inverted 450 is countered into a powerbomb for two (sweet).

They head out to the apron for the exchange of chops until Vikingo snaps off a poisonrana. A running shooting star hits Penta again but here are the battling Americanos again. Penta uses the distraction to hit a dive and a Penta Driver gets two. Roldan pulls Penta’s leg and gets ejected but Vikingo grabs the belt. Cue Mini Vikingo to to take it away though, allowing Penta to hit the springboard Mexican Destroyer to retain at 13:39.

Rating: B. They had a hot match here, which shouldn’t be a surprise whatsoever. As you might have guessed, this was much more about getting the title on a AAA show rather than having the title be in any kind of jeopardy. That’s perfectly fine as Vikingo is a big deal and this checked pretty much all of the necessary boxes.

Post match the Vikingos stare at each other again but here are Los Americanos to keep up their brawl on the floor. They head inside and break away from security but are finally held apart. Americano says this has to end and it should be eye for eye, tooth for tooth and mask vs. mask. Original seemed to be in to wrap things up.

Overall Rating: B-. This was more of an angle heavy show with the Americanos stuff getting some red hot crowd reactions. The main event was good and the Flammer/Catalina stuff served its purpose. This show wasn’t so much about what was happening here but rather what it was setting up, which is a fine way to go every so often. Good enough show here, with the crowd going nuts over the Americanos stuff.

Rey de Reyes 2026 Night Three
Date: March 28, 2026

It’s the last night of Rey de Reyes and oddly enough, the biggest matches have been used up. There are still a few things to cover here though and we should be in for some good stuff. That has been the case around here in the first two weeks and I want to see where this goes after the big event is over. Let’s get to it.

Here are last week’s results if you need a recap.

The opening video talks about having what it takes to become forged into greatness. I believe the opening is the same as the previous two weeks, but it does move into clips about the remaining matches and talks about the final week of the show.

Cruiserweight Title: Jack Cartwheel vs. TJ Perkins vs. Dragon Lee vs. Laredo Kid

Kid is defending and this is one fall to a finish. Kid goes right after Perkins to start but it gets broken up, with Lee getting in some stomps to both of them. Cartwheel’s diving hurricanrana off the apron takes out Lee though and it’s Cartwheel with an Asai moonsault to knock down the pile. Back in and Lee knocks Kid down for two, followed by a bridging German suplex for the same.

Perkins is back up with kind of a double abdominal stretch to Lee and Kid, with Cartwheel making the save. Cartwheel takes out Lee and Perkins and hits the springboard flipping splash onto Lee. The sitout powerbomb gets two on Perkins with the other two making the save, leaving everyone down. Perkins is dropkicked to the floor and Kid is sent outside as well, with Cartwheel dropkicking Lee out too.

Cartwheel isn’t done and hits a big cartwheel dive onto the other three but Perkins crotches him on top. Lee superplexes Kid down to give Perkins two, with Lee making the save. Perkins gives Lee a Detonation Kick but gets caught with Cartwheel’s spinning moonsault…but the landing bounces Cartwheel into a Styles Clash from Lee, which lands on Perkins for a bonus. Kid breaks up a cover on…I have no idea and strikes it out with Lee. A running flipping DDT drops Lee but he’s right back with a running knee.

Kid takes Lee up but gets sunset bombed down by Cartwheel. Lee is able to block a super wheelbarrow rollup and double stomps Cartwheel on the back. Operation Dragon hits Cartwheel, with Perkins hitting a top rope legdrop for the save. Kid breaks up Perkins’ cover and a double superkick sends Perkins outside. Lee gives Cartwheel a big running flip dive but comes up holding his knee. Perkins misses a belt shot and gets taken down with a poisonrana. A curb stomp retains the title at 13:19.

Rating: B+. This was pretty much exactly as advertised, with everyone doing a bunch of spots and flying all over the place. That’s exactly what you expect with a Cruiserweight Title match, especially involving four people. Cartwheel and Lee got to stand out but Kid retains in the end to continue his record reign. Very fast paced, entertaining match.

Post match Rey Fenix comes out for the staredown with Kid.

Las Toxicas are proud of Flammer for her record reign as Reina de Reinas. There’s going to be a big celebration on April 11 in Mexico City. Champagne and men will be provided. Oh and there’s some woman named Sussy Love who she has to beat first but it shouldn’t be a problem.

We recap El Fiscal vs. Abismo Negro (I believe the same video from a few weeks ago) to set up their latest grudge match. Apparently they’re fighting over the Abismo Negro name, with Fiscal being the son of the original Abismo Negro, while this one took the name in a bad direction as part of Los Vipers (I think).

Abismo Negro vs. El Fiscal

Fiscal jumps him to start and hits a dive before going back inside to slug away. A clothesline puts Abismo down and it’s time to start slugging away. Abismo ties him in the corner for a dropkick and a big clothesline cuts off Fiscal’s comeback (JBL approves). The chinlock goes on before Abismo just slaps him in the face. That earns him a double leg takedown but Abismo blocks a Tombstone (illegal in Mexico). Abismo tries one of his own but gets rolled up for the pin at 6:34.

Rating: B-. This had me thinking of Jake Roberts vs. Randy Savage at This Tuesday In Texas, as it was clear that they hated each other but they didn’t have much time to do the actual match. Fiscal pretty much had to win for the sake of the honor of his own name, though the ending feels like it’s setting up another match. You could feel the hatred between these two though and it came off as a fight, which is how it should have felt.

Post match Abismo jumps Fiscal and tombstones him onto the announcers’ table (which doesn’t break). Points for the medical team, as the stretcher is RIGHT THERE.

Here’s what’s coming next week.

Here is El Ojo for a chat. Dorian Roldan didn’t expect much from this crowd and the fans should have cheered for El Hijo del Vikingo. They have turned their back on him and need to get over Vikingo turning his back on them. Vikingo calls Mini Vikingo dumb and he doesn’t know what he’s gotten into. Last time, Mini Vikingo’s mother was crying, so buy her a lot of tissues for what he’s got planned. Vikingo is ready to go to Wrestlemania as the Intercontinental Champion because he’s seen the stupid man with the title.

So Penta can get out here with his dumb dance…and here he is, complete with the dance. Penta acknowledges Vikingo’s skill but doesn’t like Roldan, who turns everything he touches to trash. Vikingo doesn’t respect his town and his mother doesn’t like him. He’s out here in a suit like he’s about to be baptized and the match is on. How about April 11 in Mexico City? Oh and here’s the little dance you didn’t like, plus a shove to Vikingo’s face. Penta thanks the fans and hits his catchphrase to wrap it up. That’s a big match, as they’re definitely making the Mexico City show feel important.

Overall Rating: B. This show did a nice job of covering a few things, as not only did it have the very good opener, but it also bridged things forward. We have the Intercontinental Title match and Flammer’s celebration announced for April 11, albeit with another title defense for Flammer in the way. While this felt like the least important of the three weeks (because it was), they did a good job of keeping me interested. Nice work again here, which is pretty normal for AAA.

Rey de Reyes 2026 Night One
Date: March 14, 2026

It’s the first of three weeks of one of the biggest AAA shows of the year and they’re starting fast. This week features both the Rey de Reyes finals, plus Dominik Mysterio defending the Mega Title against El Hijo del Vikingo, with some special stipulations. That’s in addition to a Women’s Title match so let’s get to it.

The opening video talks about what it takes to be the best and earn the crown. Or sword in this case.

Commentary sends best wishes to Konnan, who has been having some health issues.

Here is Rey Fenix to get things going. He loves being here and promises surprises for everyone. That includes his favorite wrestler, and his brother, which brings out Penta. I mean, he was already announced for the show so it’s not a surprise but close enough. Fenix even holds the rope open for him in a nice moment before going to leave, but Penta tells him to stay.

Penta greets the crowd and teases a Lucha Brothers reunion, perhaps at TripleMania. They’re the best team in the universe and they’ll be back together. Fenix leaves and Penta talks about some of the legends that have won the Rey de Reyes tournament over the years. Penta talks about how winning the Intercontinental Title is about everyone here and he wants a challenger from Mexico to step up. You could tell how much this meant for Penta and that’s rather cool to see.

Reina de Reinas Title: Flammer vs. ???

It’s open challenge time with Flammer defending against….Bayley. Ok that’s a nice surprise. Bayley headlocks her down to start and they grapple around a bit, with Flammer slipping away. Bayley takes her to the floor for a quick beating but Flammer sweeps the leg and hits a suicide dive. Back in and Flammer pounds away before grabbing the chinlock. That doesn’t last long as Bayley is back up with a running neckbreaker.

The Twisting Stunner over the ropes gives Bayley two and she knees Flammer in the face. Flammer kicks her out of the corner though and rips a pad off the turnbuckle but has to escape the Rose Plant. Bayley gets tied in the ropes for a springboard legdrop but is fine enough to hit a middle rope elbow to the back. A Codebreaker out of the corner gives Flammer two, only for Bayley to knock her down. Cue Las Toxicas for a distraction, allowing Flammer to send her into the ropes. The running dropkick against the ropes retains the title at 11:38.

Rating: B-. And that’s a great way to use a star like Bayley, as she got cheated out of the win and Flammer gets one of the biggest victories of her career. The win gives Flammer the record for longest reign in the title’s history, which is quite the accomplishment. I don’t quite get the star power out of her, but this kind of a win is always going to help.

Video on the Rey de Reyes tournament and what it has meant over the years. This year, the winner even gets a Mega Title shot in addition to the really big sword.

Rey de Reyes: Santos Escobar vs. Original El Grande Americano vs. El Grande Americano vs. La Parka

One fall and for the sake of simplicity, I’ll call them “Original” and “Americano” respectively. The bell rings twice for some reason and it’s already off to Original vs. Americano. Escobar makes the fans wait even longer though, with Parka coming back in to break it up. The fans call Original IMPOSTER as he sends Parka out to the apron. A dropkick sends Original to the floor and Escobar dumps Parka as well.

Americano is back in to hammer on Escobar but Parka is back in to clean house. Parka moonsaults down onto the other three and a spinning torture rack bomb drops Original for two back inside. Original is back up to start working on Parka’s arm and a top rope clothesline drops him for two. Escobar is back in and Original takes over on him as well, with Americano coming back in to the crowd’s delight.

Escobar gets the other three in the corners for some running knees and a superkick gets two on Parka. Americano tells Escobar to bring it though and clears him out, meaning it’s time for the showdown with Original. Escobar breaks it up again and gets his ankle locked, with Americano doing his weird camel clutch to Parka. Both of those are broken up so Escobar takes Parka up top for a superplex and a near fall.

Original German suplexes Parka and Escobar so here is Americano to hammer away. A super Spanish Fly drops Original, with Escobar adding a superkick mid-flip (cool) for two. Original and Americano take the other two down and they both load up the masks. Stereo headbutts leave both of them down and Parka frog splashes Americano for two. Parka and Escobar clothesline each other and everyone is down.

Original and Americano brawl to the back, which JBL points out as being rather dumb. Escobar grabs a chair but gets suplexed for two instead. Parka misses a moonsault and gets faceplanted onto the chair for two. Cue Americano, who points to Los Americanos beating up the Original in a sky box. Escobar avoids a charge in the corner and gets two off a rollup with tights. Cue El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. to stop Escobar from grabbing a chair though, allowing Americano to hit the running headbutt for the pin and the tournament at 19:00.

Rating: B+. This was pretty much non-stop action and the fans were WAY into everything Americano was doing. They’ve got a hot feud here and a mask vs. mask match is about as perfect of a blowoff as you can get. Putting Americano into the Mega Title picture is what the fans want and it comes after an awesome four way. Rather good stuff here, as they did not stop throughout.

Post match Americano laughs at the Original, who has been handcuffed to a railing in the box.

Here’s what’s coming next week.

Mega Title: El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Dominik Mysterio

Vikingo, with Dorian Roldan, is challenging and cannot challenge again if he loses. If Mysterio wins, he has to leave Mexico. It’s also No DQ so they both grab an early kendo stick. Vikingo dropkicks him into the corner and ties him in the ropes for a running low dropkick. Some legsweeps put Mysterio down and a chair is tossed at his head (Rey: “Maybe after that hit he’ll recognize me as his father.”).

Vikingo sends him into the steps and a running flip dive knocks Mysterio out of a chair for the big crash. Back in and Vikingo puts a trashcan over Mysterio’s head and unloads with a kendo stick for two. Mysterio fights back and knocks him down for the slingshot hilo but Vikingo blocks the Three Amigos. Instead it’s a Michinoku Driver for two on Vikingo, with Roldan making the save.

Cue Omos for a distraction, allowing Vikingo to get two off a rollup. Omos pulls a trashcan away from Mysterio and throws it back at him, allowing Vikingo to hit a top rope double stomp for two. Vikingo puts on the title but misses a frog splash, only for Omos to break up the 619. There’s a big chokeslam to Mysterio but here is Mini Vikingo to break up the 630. Mysterio goes low to save Mini from Omos and some chair shots put Omos down. The 619 and frog splash retain the title at 12:55.

Rating: B. The key thing here is they didn’t go long, as this was more about just getting everything in and leaving before they overstayed their welcome. The big two promotions could absolutely learn something from that as it made things so much better here. Mysterio retaining is a great way to go, as he is thriving here and it would be insane to take him out of Mexico.

Post match Mysterio celebrates and you can hear Rey having to keep himself from cheering for his son (that’s nice).

Overall Rating: B+. As usual, I had a great time with this as everyone was working hard and you can get into everything rather easily. The tournament final was a blast and the main event was fun, with Bayley being a nice surprise. They knew this was the big show and they did well with it, though good luck following up on it in the coming weeks. AAA continues to be among the best weekly series and that was absolutely the case again here.

We continue the road towards King Of Kings and the qualifying for the namesake match continues. That’s in addition to El Hijo de Vikingo getting ready to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Mega Title. This show has been a breeze to watch in its early weeks and it would be great to see that continue. Let’s get to it.

Opening sequence.

Jack Cartwheel vs. La Parka

Cartwheel cartwheels around to start and Parka loses his sleeves, though his arms have bones on them as well (that’s great). A running crucifix bomb plants Parka and he rolls outside, where Cartwheel busts out a space flying tiger drop for the big crash. Back in and Parka gets two off a Michinoku Driver but Cartwheel snaps off a poisonrana. A Red Arrow misses though and Cartwheel gets suplexed into the corner. Cartwheel rolls outside so Parka nails a suicide dive, followed by the Thriller for the pin at 3:59.

Rating: B-. I was surprised at the length of the match as I was expecting this to be a good bit longer. They crammed in a bunch of stuff into just about four minutes and that’s great to see. Cartwheel was hyped up as a big deal, but given that Parka was in the Royal Rumble, it’s no surprise that he got a showcase here. Fun match either way though.

Post match Parka brings in a kid for some dancing. Works around the world.

We look back at El Ojo destroying Mini Vikingo.

Mini Vikingo is in the hospital, with his mother by his side. He says his heart hurts the worst, because he tried to honor Vikingo and this is what happened. He’s so glad his mother is here with him, though his mother finds a note saying “SEE YOU SOON!” from El Hijo de Vikingo. Unfortunately she doesn’t show it to him. This was so over the top that it was great, especially getting to see Omos wreck him again.

Santos Escobar doesn’t like people dancing around here and is ready to put El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. on trial, with Escobar as judge, jury and executioner, say at King Of Kings.

Las Toxicas vs. Faby Apache/Jessy Jackson/Adelicious

Apache charges at Maravilla to start and grabs a flipping backslide for two. It’s off to Adelicious, who gets hit in the face and Hiedra comes in for a backbreaker. Jackson comes in for some running knees in the corner but a distraction lets Flammer come in and the villains take over. A kick to the face in the corner puts Jackson outside but she manages a double clothesline. Adelicious comes back in with a double missile dropkick and a 450 gets two, with Hiedra making the save. Everything breaks down and Flammer’s basement dropkick pins Adelicious at 3:42.

Rating: C. Another quick and to the point match here as the regular trio gets to smash through a makeshift team. If nothing else, Flammer, the Reina de Reinas champion, getting a win is a good way to go as you want to remind people that the champions are indeed good. Not much to see here, but they were moving while they were in there.

The Original Grande Americano declares that he is the real version and accuses SOMEONE of impersonating him for the last six months. That impostor even SANG SONGS in Spanish to pretend to be him. Don’t worry though as he’ll win the Rey de Reyes tournament and then the Mega Title.

We look back at Panic Clown being attacked a few weeks ago.

The Psycho Circus and Pagano want to keep their eyes out tonight and then go see Panic, but one of them (Dave I believe) has forgotten something in the locker room.

We look at the rather intense rivalry between Abismo Negro and Fiscal, who meet next week.

Money Machine vs. War Raiders vs. Los Americanos

For a Tag Team Title shot against Pagano/Psycho Clown (on Spanish commentary) at Rey de Reyes. Bravo armdrags Plata down to start and stops to dances so Oro comes in, earning a beating of his own. The Raiders aren’t having this and clears the ring, including dropping Oro for two. Money Machine gets back in to take over on Erik but Ivar takes both of them out. Los Americanos are in to jump Ivar, but the Raiders pull the two of them out of the air.

That means a toss to send the two of them into each other for quite the crash but Money Machine dives in to dropkick the Raiders down again. The Raiders catch the diving Money Machine and toss them into each other as well though, leaving the Raiders to go after Rayo inside. The Bronco Buster misses for Ivar though and Bravo comes back in to slug away at Money Machine.

Rayo’s middle rope moonsault clears out a bunch of people on the floor and Bravo actually slams Ivar back inside. Stereo diving headbutts get two on Ivar but Money Machine is back in to take over. A suicide dive hits Ivar and a second takes Erik out but Los Americanos double headbutt Oro. The Raiders make the save though and a belly to back suplex/top rope splash finishes Plata at 9:27.

Rating: B. They went with the fast paced, exciting style here and that worked well. The Raiders were a smart addition as you can always use a team with a power brawling style. It helps that they already have a reputation as former champions in WWE to add some star power. The other teams were rather good as well, as they were flying around to confused the Raiders, making for a hot main event.

Post match the champs get in the ring for the staredown with the Raiders, but here is Murder Clown to wave Psycho and Pagano to the back. Dave the Clown has been attacked and is taken away in an ambulance to end the show.

Overall Rating: B-. The best sign is that these shows seem to be starting to bring in some more AAA stars rather than just having the WWE guest stars. That makes sense to a certain extent, but eventually you need to stick with what this show is supposed to be about. They made it work again this week, with a completely entertaining show, even without most of the bigger names. Hopefully they can continue that trend, as it’s a good thing to see.

It’s the third episode of this show and as announced last week, we’ll be seeing the first qualifying match for the Rey de Reyes tournament. That’s a big enough match in the first place, but it’s taken down a bit for a fairly dumb reason that we’ll get to after the match is over. Let’s get to it.

Opening recap, looking at Omos helping El Hijo del Vikingo be El Grande Americano last week.

Here is Dorian Roldan with Omos to get things going. Roldan (as translated by Rey Mysterio) talks about his family’s influence on wrestling and how they are leading things forward. El Ojo (the Eye, their group) has the greatest wrestler in the world right now so here is El Hijo del Vikingo.

Cue Vikingo, who brags about being the #1 contender and doesn’t understand why the people are supporting a false Mexican. The fans turned their backs on him so he’s turning his back on them. At Rey de Reyes, he’s getting the title back. Dominik Mysterio pops up on screen to say he’s keeping the title in Vikingo’s hometown. These guys could be a problem.

We run down the card.

Chris Carter vs. Mini Vikingo vs. Elio LeFleur vs. TJP

For a Cruiserweight Title shot. Carter starts fast and knocks TJP down in the corner, followed by a hurricanrana to send LeFleur outside. Vikingo and Carter hit stereo running dives before trying dropkicks back inside. They shake hands but get jumped by TJP (JBL loves the punishment for stupidity), who charges into Carter’s boot in the corner.

TJP grabs a double submission on Carter and Vikingo before putting Vikingo in a surfboard. LeFleur breaks that up and the other three are sent outside, which of course means a springboard flip dive. Back in and TJP hits the Detonation Kick to Carter but gets dropped by LeFleur. Vikingo is back in to splash Carter but TJP steals the pin at 6:14.

Rating: B-. This was in the vein of “let’s take a bunch of people and let them fly all over the place for a few minutes”. TJP winning is as good as anyone else as he didn’t exactly stand out above the rest of the participants. The match had everything you could want out of the thing and it didn’t overstay its welcome so this was a nice opener.

Post match here is El Ojo to chase off TJP, with Omos destroying Mini Vikingo. El Hijo del Vikingo yells at Mini and it’s a second powerbomb to leave him laying.

We recap La Hiedra vs. Lola Vice, with Mr. Iguana in the middle. As luck would have it, he’s the guest referee for their match tonight.

The War Raiders are here in two weeks.

La Hiedra vs. Lola Vice

Mr. Iguana is guest referee and Las Toxicas are here with Hiedra. They shove each other to start and Vice runs her over for some dancing (Iguana approves). An exchange of rollups results in both women getting a bit closer to Iguana but Hiedra takes Vice down for some right hands.

Back up and Vice kicks her into the corner for…well even more kicking actually. The running hip attack misses though and it’s Hiedra hitting one of her own. Iguana doesn’t like Las Toxicas getting on the apron and throws them out, leaving Vice to reverse a rollup into a choke. Stereo faceplants leave both of them down and it’s Vice up first to knock her into the corner again.

Now the running hip attack connects, with Vice blowing Iguana a kiss before getting two. Hiedra sends her throat first into the ropes and gets two off a Downward Spiral. With nothing else working, Hiedra grabs the stuffed iguana, which is NOT ok with Mr. Iguana. Instead she grabs the trunks on a rollup but gets caught, allowing Vice to grab a rollup with trunks for the pin at 7:59.

Rating: C+. I don’t speak much Spanish, but this is a story you can understand just by watching what’s happening in front of you. That’s usually a sign that things are going well, as you should be able to tell a story with something other than words. It’s a simple story but it’s going well and Vice/Iguana should make a fun team.

Ethan Page and Chelsea Green want to face Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana, who are dancing in the ring, for the Mixed Tag Team Titles.

Rey de Reyes Qualifying Match: Aerostar vs. Apollo Crews vs. La Parka vs. Jack Cartwheel

Crews throws Cartwheel at Aerostar to start and it’s Parks slugging it out with Crews, including some dancing. Aerostar is back in but gets kicked in the face, only to send Crews outside. Crews gets dropped onto the apron, leaving Aerostar and Cartwheel to flip around a lot. Cartwheel clears the ring but Crews sends him outside and hits a big running flip dive onto all three.

Back in and Crews’ delayed vertical suplex drops Parka, who is back up with a Michinoku Driver. Cartwheel makes the save so Parka takes Crews and Cartwheel down. Parka frog splashes Cartwheel but Aerostar makes the save. Aerostar gets to knock everyone down until Cartwheel poisonranas Crews.

Cartwheel neckbreakers Parka and Aerostar and there’s the big flip dive onto the pile. Back in and a corkscrew shooting star press hits Parka but Crews powerbombs Cartwheel onto Parka. Aerostar is back in with a rolling cutter to Crews, only for Parka to catch Aerostar on top with a super Spanish Fly. The Thriller gives Parka the pin on Aerostar at 8:16.

Rating: B. This was the slightly extended version of the opener and it was more entertaining, with a bunch of people flying around. Some of the saves were rather good and Parka winning is a fine choice. Granted it’s also a spoiled choice as he was in the Royal Rumble this afternoon and Michael Cole spoiled the result. Nice job WWE.

Overall Rating: B-. As usual, this is an easy watch as it runs about an hour a week and features some pretty easy to understand angles. That being said, it’s still a pretty run of the mill show, with little in the way of in-depth stuff. This show feels more about fast paced, entertaining action and that’s a fine way to go. It’s also a nice place to send some other wrestlers for some reps, with people like Crews and the upcoming Raiders being good examples. Nice show here, though going beyond an hour a week would be asking a lot.
