Wasn’t there a Serpentico in TNA that had a few matches with Suicide like 10 years ago then disappeared? (I heard that was Amazing Red under the mask though.)

  2. Greg says:

Awful lot of people named Matt on this show.

I ended up watching from the 8 Man Tag on but I saw Matt Hardy and Matt Sydal nearly get killed. They should have stopped the Match when Hardy clearly was gone and Tony Khan is an idiot for trying to explain it away. The Tag Title Match was fine but it needed some time shaved off. Didn’t care much for the Mimosa nonsense and Moxley retaining was the right call.

  4. Sebastian Howard says:

You think mjf is ready for title? I just don’t see a point in it with no crowd around.

  5. Sebastian Howard says:

I think the stuff in the Matt/Sammy match was a total work, when they’re throwing up xs it usually a work.

    • Jay H says:

He had a concussion and his wife was pissed at them on Twitter but sure be like Tony the Money Mark and try to explain it away.

      • Sebastian Howard says:

Yeah I looked it up since making the comment and I guess it was legit, I didn’t notice his head hit concrete on the spot and they use the x mark so often I figured it was a work. How are you going to bitch at tony khan though when Vince let rock cave in Foley’s skull at rumble 99 or the various other times he’s made wrestlers work hurt?

        • Jay H says:

Really? Your argument is going to be something from over 20 years ago. Not to mention we didn’t know enough about head injuries then as we do now.

          • Therealist says:

NOTE: He did not have a concussion. Thats why we wait for real reports and not tweets from crazed wifes

          • Greg says:

He more than likely did get at least a minor concussion (as even small NFL tackles give you those).

Regardless, it’s still was a stupid, stupid, stupid spot. 9 times out of 10 that would be a major concussion.

          • Thomas Hall says:

As the guy above doesn’t exactly seem like the most rational person, I’d point out this, from the California Orthopedic Institute:

“It is important to note that since a concussion does NOT show up on an MRI or CT scan, these tests may come back as normal, but does not indicate that the athlete didn’t suffer a concussion. A clear MRI or CT scan does not mean that the athlete is clear of a concussion injury.”

Or we could go with the word of his boss, whose commentary kept trying to tell us that it was TOTALLY FINE last night.

          • Sebastian Howard says:

Ok what about when he made punk work with a concussion and Mrsa? I mean you literally talk to any wrestler if they’re doing an actual shoot they’ll talk about how they’ve had to work hurt and how they’re scared af to admit that they’re hurt because they don’t want to lose their push. Look what happened to Finn balor after he got injured or the revival, etc etc even kross who is on nxt literally didn’t to give up the title even though he suffered a major injury. The whole mindset in wwe is that being injured isn’t ok and if you are injured you’re going to lose your push and Vince is going to think you’re injury prone.

          • Greg says:

This view is rampant in sports. This mindset led to me getting really bad injuries when I started off with minor ones.

A healthy athlete can go for a long time. An injured one cannot. I don’t get why reporting injuries isn’t encouraged. I get why one wouldn’t want to admit it but the owners should be trying to encourage them to admit injuries.

And unfortunately, the reality is being injury prone is detrimental. Nothing really can be done about that.

          • Sebastian Howard says:

What sport did you do Greg? Football?

          • Jay H says:

Judging by the latest report Matt had to be driven home to North Carolina but yeah he is fine.

          • Greg says:

Soccer. A half torn ACL turned into a fully torn ACL. Came back too soon, cause an injury to the screw that was put in. Played through that which made me suck because cutting became too painful. Finally got that and something else fixed, missed two years pretty much and I barely played when I finally got back.

It was clear that I had stuff wrong. I ignored it because I didn’t want to lose my spot. Caused myself to get much worse and lost it anyways. But my coach always preached toughness. Always preached getting through the game no matter what. Made me think I was supposed to do that.

Looking back, I really regret not caring about my health. Health is always more important.

  6. Sebastian Howard says:

Oh yeah that Matt sydal botch has me lmao

Main event really showed how limited mjf is, this match would’ve been great with a crowd because the crowd would’ve loved moxley and hated mjf but with only like 20 people there it didn’t matter to the match and mjf is just like…. he’s serviceable in the ring. He can do basic stuff that looks good but he can’t actually technically wrestle or pull off impressive stuff that we see from indie guys when they’re doing technical wrestling. Also wtf was up with the blade job? Camera just cut away because I think moxley whipped him outside and it cuts to mjf and he’s just blading like a mofo. I like blood in matches but it should come from them actually getting hit in the head or taking a chair shot or something impactful, this just came out of nowhere. I also felt like the story was kind of dissonant because it’s supposed to be like mjf is showing that he’s tougher because he’s bleeding and fighting moxley but that would’ve made a lot more sense if it was a hardcore match, instead we had the moxley can’t use his finisher stip and that weird blade job out of nowhere.

Ftr vs page/omega was match of the night for sure. Just so well done and you could see omega/page working through their problems in the match. I also loved that omega thought about beating the shit out of page but stopped himself, that feels pretty interesting on a character level though I wonder if the storyline was affected at all by the Sasha/bayley turn on Friday. Anyway I like the omega characterization, he really has no reason to be pissed because page did everything he could but that’s what makes it more interesting. Are the elite going to break up? Probably not, they’re just going to be like screw you page, I can’t tell if omegas going to turn heel or not but I don’t think so yet; him not beating up page seemed to show that he still wants to be a face.

The Jericho/orange match was weird but it made more sense after I realized that Cassidy won. Jericho didn’t want to lose in a straight up match so he came out with this where if they just had a regular match Jericho probably would’ve beaten Cassidy. So that’s nice but it kind of undersells Cassidy because Jerichos concerned with his image with putting him over twice in regular matches. March was weird because the best stuff was when they were inside the ring.

Rosa/Shidia was good, I forgot nwa still existed as I haven’t watched since when they just started but if aew can get Rosa into their women’s division it will be really good for them. Rosa is the first chick they’ve had that I’m actually interested in as a character and a wrestler.

Young bucks tag match was good, I don’t get why people bitch about them, they always have good tag matches.

  8. Jimmy Pledger says:

Why all the hate on Sydal? He’s hella talented & is a great guy outside the ring.

    • Thomas Hall says:

Oh I’ve talked to him before. Incredibly nice guy. That third eye stuff was death in Impact though. If he’s more like Evan Bourne, I’m rather pleased to have him around. Otherwise, I’ll be off finding a nice test pattern.

  9. Therealist says:

Main Event was a C+? Get out of here. What were you watching?
